The beach is free, unless you want to park. Parking usually costs something, I think?
I am not certain, I never go to the beach even though it's only a couple miles away.

The part with parking was just for comparison of the ways money is being collected. May be I should have written "pay cash" to be clearer. Hence why you don't go in the water. Also, the water is like 50 degrees so you wouldn't want to go in anyway. Our beaches are for looking at. The good news is, though, if you stick around long enough you might see One Eyed Willy's ship sail past!

So, except dangerous, it's also boring. Why would anyone visit a beach where you can't go in the water? I for one like to soak myself in the water from the moment I set foot on the beach till the last sunray. I don't swim (I can't), I just soak myself in the shallows.
I live on the south shore of Massachusetts. If I had to pay to use the beach I think I'd be in debt all summer.
