DNA would be evidence of unintelligent design, if anything. It looks exactly like you'd expect from a bunch of weird events screwing around over a long period of time, and nothing like a clean, efficient creation. If we are designed, the designer is astonishingly bad not to mention smelly.

No, no. The creator was just so clever that He set it all up so that shit would just evolve on its own, right after the chemicals succeeded in combining into complex and ultimately biological forms. Here too He showed enormous restraint in just setting it up so that the usual conditions on plenty of planets would go all biological just the way iron goes to rust. For a while, He debated setting the galactic thermostat so as to maximize the production of life. But then He thought, "hmmm wonder what will happen if I just leave shit alone?" And wonder of wonder, it turned out biological shit just happens, and He saw that it was good. But then he got engrossed in crystal formation and lost all interest in tracking how often any of us masturbates.

Not science in entirety but philosophy as well. Collectively the two have completely removed any need for a god or any plausibility of most gods, especially the Abrahamic and other religious gods. Philosophy on the other hand has completely removed any need for a deistic god as well. So you can't give all the credit to science.
