Since Christians can't even all agree on hell and the devil, perhaps they should come to a consensus before you decide exactly what is a symbol of hate or evil to them.

And really, what it comes down to, is that if the gov't is going to even pretend to be elected by the people, and serve the people, then regardless of what any of those symbols mean, if they want to allow one they should allow them all. Hence not having a Confederate flag flying in your gov't office. Unless you're open to having a white-hate flag flying, of course. So remove both instances of religion and PRESTO.
By the way, I find the systematic rape and torture of the earth and science denial by many conservatives to be hateful and evil, and much of their speech directed at liberals to be such. Of course, it goes both ways. Try again. There's plenty of hateful symbolism in politics.

To me, Satanism is a form of self-expression in opposing religion and voicing criticism of the Abrahamic faiths. We're raised to "respect" religion (especially the Abrahamic ones) as something untouchable and unquestionable, so yes it is shocking to see people using the devil as an anti-religious campaign. It's provokes, it gets people talking.
Of course, if you're talking about people seriously believing in the devil, then that is as ridiculous as religion itself. Am I offended by people using Satanic imagery though? No, as an atheist I have no cause to be.

I think I can be neutral on religious symbols on public property while still being interested in hearing yall's views regarding Satanic symbols and Satanism.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

How do you feel about Satanists saying religion doesn't have to be supernatural and shouldn't have a negative connotation to atheists?

Well, religion can't not be supernatural tbh, so I'd disagree with them. It's believing in something that science is having a really easy time proving false.
Atheism shouldn't have a negative connotation anyway. I think I speak for a lot of atheists when I say I have no interest in taking religion away from people, I just want it to be a private affair. I don't want it in my life.
A common "complaint", if you will, about atheists from religious people is that we seem to be a rowdy group who can't shut up... disingenuous really, considering there's a lot to discuss while it's religious people who just can't shut up about their religion.

Those Satanists did not invent the symbol of the Demon, the bible did. They took something that was made up to represent evil, and are trying to make it their own. Which is fine, I guess, but by putting it next to the 10 commandments statue, they are deliberately and knowingly trying to "defile" something that is very sacred for the majority of people in this country. Why not just choose a different spot to put their statue in? Its own spot?
There is nothing wrong with defiling a lie, all the less so when it is such a misanthropic lie. The defiling of such a disgusting lie is all the better done by using elements of the lie against it and those gullible enough to prostrate themselves like morons before such a lie.
