The national debt is one of the factors that is holding back the expansion of the economy.

Anyone that was against the bailout has no idea how vital GM is to Michigan's economy. Despite the fact that the nation-wide recession started in 2007, we were steeped in one since 2000, so we got hammered especially hard during the Great Recession. The collapse of GM may just have been enough to bring the entire state to its knees.
Don't blame the president for the bailout. Blame these too-big-to-fail corporations.
