I saw it a rehash of Clara Oswald. A young attractive girl looks after the doctors timeline throughout history.
I agree. Just another way for Moffat to retcon everything with his own characters.

I only tuned in to watch the episode with Maisie Williams since I love her. I lost interest last season, and I enjoy Peter Capaldi as The Doctor. I just didn't feel compelled to keep up with it anymore. Even with the offer of Williams I kept forgetting that it airs on Saturday. I found the second part of that episode rather lackluster despite enjoying both actors. Honestly enjoyed the first part a lot more. It felt like it didn't need to be a two parter.
I think ever since the end of Season 6 the quality of the writing just kept going down and down. I liked Season 7 okay, but after 5 and 6 it just felt so linear. Those seasons were larger than life in so many ways and kept me invested from beginning to end. Now it doesn't pull me in like it used to. It's like Moffat threw everything he had in those first couple of seasons and then ran out of ideas. Though I think continued confusion from fans forced him to tone down his content and it really shows.

It's official. Moffat is sexist, perhaps not as much as some of the classic-era Who, but way more than RTD:

Nup, confirmed by another study.

Apparently, less female speaking time definately, 1000% undeniably = sexism. Is that study published in a journal anywhere?

Is there a study about lazy, dumbed down, deus ex machina writing that insults the audience?

I wasn't clear with my intent. I took the study at face value. What I was really getting after was the fact that 'the study' was conducted in the first place. This is a clear sign that there's a professional offense taker at work. Fucking ridiculous.

Everything is sexist if you try hard enough.

Ah, the Sarkeesian Effect. That would make a great Doctor Who title. Probably something involving Sontarans, or the Mara.
