If you need a secure, free backup device then Google Drive is solid. 15GB of free storage.

I would run Windows in safe mode, do a system restore to a week ago, then run a full scan with your antivirus. I use Panda. It's free and if you ever run Windows 10 it won't crash your start button like Avast.

Yes.

Do a search for laptop cooling pad or cooling stand, and try to mimic that contraption with your cardboard box or whatever you got.

Ha that's what I have okay so that's done now....

I'm finishing my AVG scan. I also have Malware Bytes, is that any good?

BTW it could actually be fine and it just thinks there is a problem. It keeps thinking I have two monitors when I just have the one laptop screen... if it crashed because of some graphics issue it doesn't actually have, then like Pocahontas said it might actually be fine....

...only thing is my computer has been lagging basic youtube vids lately.... but then my internet speed seems to be decreased on those occasions so that may be an internet thing.

Can viruses ever cause bluescreen errors?

Is Pornhub known to contain viruses? My computer started slowing after a few trips there. I thought it was pretty clean as pr0n sites go.

It's not the porn, it's the flash player. It's a bit demanding on the CPU, and things heat up quickly.
Malwarebytes is good, but it's not an antivirus.
2 monitors.... could it be that you have one of those newish cpus that have a on-chip graphics card and also a dedicated graphics card?

Try to use a vacuum cleaner to suck out any dust you may have inside your laptop... be careful not to force anything. Mine has a grill on the back which requires some cleaning about once a year... simple hoovering does the trick.
