Are Christians discriminated against more than those of other faiths?
December 18, 2010 at 8:38 pm
I've noticed that people are usually more hostile to Christians than they are to other faiths, or that hostility towards Chrstians is tolerated more. I'm not saying I like Christianity, but it seems to me that Christians are treated unfairly. Is it just me?

Yes.
Xtians whine whenever anyone doesn't bend down and kiss their asses. They complain a lot. Feed a couple to the lions and then they can complain.

Christians unfairly and the injustice tolerated?:
Do you mean here? Nah, not really, although I can see how it might seem so, I think it's probably because the majority of the stuffwits we get here also tend to also be Christians. They are attacked for presenting ignorant, stupid, arguments, and for being annoying twats, not for being Christians..
IF you mean places such as:
North America
South America
Europe
UK
Sub Saharan Africa
Australasia
The answer that question deserves::
Or,if you want to be coldly rational, kindly provide your evidence.
IF your mean say parts of the Middle East, Pakistan and South East Asia, I guess a case could probably be made for your claim.

Considering how hostile some Christians are to people who hold other faiths (even other Christians) or none at all. For example; have personally read and heard comments by Christians which say frankly offensive not to mention untrue things about Atheists. It is surprising there less hostility to Christians from us people without faith than you would find say in say a Christian forum, towards people who don't share their faith (including sometimes other Christians).
Judaism, Christianity and Islam are religions which inherently breeds intolerance for other religions and even those forms of those religions not seen as Orthodox. Members of all the above faiths throughout history have been intolerant to the point of killing the unbelievers and heretics. For example; more Christians died at the hands of Persecution from other Christians than from non-Christians.

It's just you.
Christians have been some of the most hateful intolerant people in history! All they do is complain and whine when we won't allow them special treatment. Muslims do just as much whining, it's just they like to blow people up to get their delusional beliefs across.
Christians can be very hostile towards anyone who doesn't believe in the shit they do. Untreated fairly? Them? Ha!
They'll only be happy and content when they get undeserved special treatment. When they have everyone believing all the nonsense they believe in.
I have no problems with anyone in whatever bullshit they believe in. Since it's only a belief and there's nothing to support it. Just as long as they keep it to themselves, I'm happy. In other words, I want them to shut up about it and sod off.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

No, Christianity is merely a religious disease that requires more aggressive treatment than many others. Far from receiving the treatment appropriate to the disease, most pernicious strains of this pathogen is actually being nourished with public money and protected by I'll gotten clout in their main modern incubator-the US.

I've never had Jewish missionaries knock on my door on Saturday and ask "have you found Moses?"
Buddhists don't stop me on street corners and try to hand me tracts inquiring if I believe I'll reach Nirvana.
Hindus don't use my tax dollars to build monuments to Shiva.
Wiccans aren't trying to teach "magical design" in the public schools.
Confucians don't protest at funerals with signs that read "Confucius say, 'I hate fags'"
The Shintoists don't come round here shattering sheetglass in the shithouse and shouting slogans. Then again, neither do the Christians.
Sorry, ignore that last one. Bad example.

Maybe discrimination was too strong a word. It just seemed to me that criticism of Xtianity is more acceptable, even if the criticism is "That's bullshit." It is, of course, but I haven't heard similar remarks about Islam (apart from fundamentalist Xtians and other ignorant types.)

Because it is Christianity, not Islam, that is responsible for most of the ignorant, anti-enlightenment superstitions that actually making the population of this country on average outstandingly uninformed and stupid by comparison to other parts of the world that has benefited from the same enlightenment heritage.
Sometime I think this country was preordained to be the sacrafice and savior of human enlightenment by taking the original sin of christianity from the rest of the developed world onto itself.
