Too right. We already sit through about 45 minutes or something of adverts and trailers. If you then add religious propaganda from every religion that wants to jump on the bandwagon, we'll never see the fucking film. If I want to know about Christianity, I'll go into one of the eighty billion churches.
I wonder what Christians would say if they had to watch me telling them how the FSM is the true God before their film. Or is it only OK to remind people about religions that everyone already knows about?

I suspect this is really about the church getting desperate. Numbers are dropping. This is the first time I've ever heard about the church trying to weasel such blatant propaganda into private venues. I bet they are trying to guilt some paper Christians back into church regularly.
PS: If this bullshit stands, I have a suspicion I may be converting to Satanism and taking advantage of the new policies.

Let's all put some money together and make an ad about the dangers of childhood indoctrination.
We'll show little Muslim kiddies proudly waving around AK-47's and some Christian rednecks loaded to the hilt with all their prepper stashes, some KKK, and the ad will finish with:all these people have one thing in common, religion.
We'll politely ask the cinema owners to show it before the CoE ad.
Cool bananas!

Good idea! I expect that churches have also agreed to show trailers for the latest films before every service.
I might just make my own Christian film, showing where the bible tells us that slavery, rape and genocide are all acceptable and that obeying strange voices in your head is a good way to act.

At least a FSM advert would be shorter than a religious commercial that is pandering a belief and it would go something like this
Intro
Don't believe in god(s)? That's okay we don't believe either.
Outro
Google FSM or Use #FSM in search.
There no pandering it's straight and to the point.

Maybe a film about Abraham told from the perspective of Isaac?

They should have included some vague references to the force in there, then at least they could have duped some of the sillier fanboys into attending an Alpha course of whatever. Think you'll find it's a lot less than that.
I live in a town of about 100,000. If you could round up all the church goers of ANY denomination on a Sunday morning I'd be amazed if it amounted to more than 1000. People who go to church on Sunday probably don't lie on a survey and say they don't. The other way round . . . not so much.
Even the CofE says 2%.

That would be just the ticket!

So, like really, seriously, nobody, anywhere considers the Church of England to be the One True Faith, do they ??
We don't have to polygraph the Archbishop of Canterbury, or the Queen or anyone on the subject, it's a given they'd fail any test of religious sincerity.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
