Those who have a good knowledge of Arabic, and those who are honest, will be ready to admit that the Quran is untouchable in terms of its poetic eloquence and beauty. In other words, the man who wrote that passage needed to put the fear of god into people so they will not ask good questions like "Why would god make a revelation here, but then make another revelation later that contradicts the other one"
