Allah promises to us in Paradise we shall have all that we desire for all eternity, and Allah never fails in His promise. So let's say ur the most blessed person in the world. U have all the wealth, women, fame, everything u could possibly want. But u end up dying when ur 100 years old, an age when u really can't enjoy it anymore if u were still alive. Aside from that u live in a world where evil, hatred, disease, death, jealousy and other ills take place as well. U didn't live the believing life So once u die, which will happen, u will be punished for eternity in the next life. Or u believe and do righteous deeds in this life, for 100 years that u live, and when u go to the next life u are forgiven for all ur sins and are granted the gift of Paradise. The beauty of it is such that the gravel are diamonds, pearls and precious gems. Every tree in Paradise has trunks and lImbs of solid gold. U will be clothed in the finest silk robes and bracelets and rings of pure gold, silver and gemstones. U will be served by immortal youths the while u recline on thrones encrusted with gold and precious jewels. Males shall have beautiful female companions with rounded swelling breasts, dynamic figures and beautiful lustrous eyes, where females shall have handsome male companions with alluring builds who both(female and males)have scents and fragrances of musk and saffron, and are commanded by Allah to do whatever the denizens of Paradise request of them. U will be served drinks of the finest wines that don't intoxicate, milk that doesn't spoil, honey sweet and pleasurable and refreshing water all that come from rivers in Paradise. Fruits of every kind grow in pairs on the trees that reach out and hand themselves to u. U will eat the finest meats and flesh of fowls, and drink from goblets of crystal and gold. U will have bodies that do not excrete waste and have the strength and endurance of 100 men. All will be 33 years of age and will never grow old nor die. A world where no evil exists, nor sickness nor disease. Mansions built of bricks of gold and silver so large in size it would take a fast horse 70 years to reach from end to the other. perfect temperature, scenery, and the absolute greatest gift of all aside from all I mentioned and so much more, we will be able to actually visualize Allah our creator, and He will better and more pleasing than anything we have ever seen. Where the people doomed to Hell, the worst punishment, than all of pain and suffering and burning will be they will not have the privilege of seeing their creator. So imagine for Paradise Allah telling u "Go my servant, have whatever u want and enjoy yourself" So would u sacrifice and be patient and live ur life correctly for a temporary time to have whatever u desire for all eternity? That's what u should think aboutWhat's up with those gold and silver mansions? The abodes are supposed to be pearls.

"Muslim :: Book 40 : Hadith 6804 Abu Bakr b. Abdullah b. Qais reported on the authority of his father that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said that in Paradise there would be for a believer a tent of a single hollowed pearl the breadth of which would be sixty miles. It would be meant for a believer and the believers would go around it and none would be able to see the others." Christians and Muslims and Hindus, quote their holy writings too, "my writings say" is the same argument they make. Circular reasoning does not work when they do it, and it will not work when you do it either. Meant to tear this post a new arshole before now, but I was up at the GAA club planting posts for the lights on our new all weather pitch.

Quote: But it does align with scripture(let there be light). No the big bang is nothing like the genesis myth. First of all the big bang is not responsible for the ordinary everyday light we get from Sol, which is what fiat lux was all about in the first place. Second of all the big bang doesn't put the creation of items in the wrong order, e.g. the aforementioned sunlight being created before the sun, or water being created before the Earth. Quote:The rest of the formation of the earth you have is also similar to how it is described in scripture, given it's translated from a completely different style of language. No, a 2,500 year mythos cobbled out of older Babylonian and Egyption mythologies which has managed to get every single detail wrong has nothing in common with the scientific theory we have which has managed to be the best yet discovered for explaining how the universe came to be, including explaining observed phenomena and predicting ones not yet observed (at the time of its formulation). Quote:As far as the age of existence that lead to what we have now; 6 billion years sounds bout right. Of course time isn't a constant and most likely progressed differently close to rapid expansion. Well the best guess based on observation and experimentation is c. 13.5 bn years for the universe, and 5.5 bn years for the solar system. But then again your plucked out of the air figure for the age of the universe is a non biblical attempt to handwave away the fact that the bible says 6,000 years give or take, meaning that the bible thinks the world is younger than some civilisations in the Fertile Crescent that we know from archaelogical evidence exist and who we can confidently date. Quote:I'm not stuck on pretty. Death is part of life, as is suffering, at this time. So it's our fault that god created evil? And if god didn't create evil, but allowed us to do so, then how is he all powerful again? Quote:Tell you what! Explain to me why the scientific laws are the way they are, and not some other way. Because. Also they are not "scientific laws", they are theories, our best explanation for why the universe is as it is. Quote:Oh yeah; a black hole is potential on a nearly infinite scale. Pretty telling. Yes your nonsense is pretty telling (there is not one single coherent idea in that last 2 sentence group), telling me that you know shit-all about what you are talking about, and that your mind has been closed to curiosity and discovery for a long time. You remind me a lot of the "artist friend" that Richard Feynman talked about once, the one who could only comprehend things on a superficial level, and was so afraid of deeper meaning and complex ideas he had to dismiss them out of hand. Quote:There is also chaos(potential) in each of us. More meaningless drivel. And seeing as you like to have a pat formulation at the end of your posts, here's something more profound that you would be wise considering: "Tak does not require us to think of him, only that we think." When you have discovered the true meaning of those words, you will begin to shed your unwarranted and unthinking belief in god.

No. What you need to understand is that if you want to demonstrate this as a fact you will need to show evidence of this happening. At the moment all you are giving us is constant baseless assertions that this is fact, you are not showing evidence, you are simply stating something is true without showing it to be true, in the hopes that constant repetition will either make it true or make us believe that it is true. Well, unfortunately for you, we've grown beyond the idea that somebody in authority saying something automatically makes that assertion true. We look at ideas and weigh them based on the merits provided to us for those ideas. And when an idea is provided to us without supporting merits, like what you've been doing for the last while, we reject it as being without merit.
