EP, unintentionally or not, it was you making a strawman because you suggested she implied things she didn't even after she clarified that she didn't.
EP there was no argument, or strawman argument. The thread got to the point where a conversation about where people would rather live had arisen, then someone explained they would rather live in America than a lot of other places in the world even though it isn't perfect.
You made a strawman argument by saying the world isn't divided between hellish countries and the USA, which no one said was the case to begin with. You're basically saying hey your statement is too simplistic so I'm going to purposefully misinterpret it to mean things you never said, claim you were arguing about something you weren't, then argue against the points you never made. Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them. Impersonation is treason.
Perfectly put, Pablo.
Wherever you live, your home country is a disgrace. And a pleasant surprise. And all things in between. Name calling reflects on the speaker, not the target.

That's his normal "go to" bullshit whenever he has nothing else to say and he wants to derail a thread with his circular arguments. Name calling reflects on the speaker, not the target. The main question seems to be, what policy you country persues and how it influences the rest of the world. Quite naturally, as I said, the impact of the US fucking up is bigger. |
