You know, I don't remember much about which verses got scheduled when . . . and I honestly think my Dad skipped Ezekiel 23:20.  (ha!)  It's odd, I was made to memorize and quote a verse or two - but I don't ever recall being asked what I think it MEANT.  I might have asked what "whose genitals were like those of donkeys" meant . . . very embarrassing at the dinner table.

Thanks . . . I think.      It was all I knew. We human beings can make meaning and community out of just about anything - - great for survival of the species, not so great for rational and optimal thinking.  My conversion was a LOOOONG process, which made it more bearable, I think.  Slow questioning.  But I have described it to a few folks as feeling like I deliberately set fire to my house, and then stood around saying "now what?".

Why don't you check out some of the other atheist only forums. The forums who bann Strong Christians and see how routine/scripted their arguments and responses are. how repetitious and lemming like their responses are. Why is that? why are the circle jerk forums all the same? again for the very reason this one is different. The Christians here have been able to speak their mind and force people like you to rightly defend these weak and bad theological arguments till you all abandon the 'weak stuff' those other web sites are built on.

That my friend is what I mean by raising the bar. When is the last time we had a "can God make a rock so big" thread? or when was the last time you saw a God of the OT God of the NT thread???

If it was not your place to silence me then my words would not have any influence on you good bad or indifferent. Kinda like me with minnie. I read most of what he addresses to me, but I don't generally care enough to respond. What's more never once have I tried to force silence on him.

Do you see the contrast between how one truly behaves when he is not trying to silence someone (Even if they are in your face) and what it is you are doing?

Aside from all of that my primary goal here is not to save souls (that is why I don't care if I offend/I am not trying to sell you on something) My goal here is to answer questions straight up and correct incorrect ideas people have concerning Christianity. So that you can make up your own mind based on biblical fact and not the bs you guys poison each other with.

I doubt that. I'm on ignore because what I say is completely different than what you have heard for 46 years, and you feel it puts you back in a place of accountability. You can't argue it, you can explain it all away, you just do not want to deal with it. Which again is fine. because again I am not here to 'save' you. I am here simply offering the truth. If you want it fine, if you want to ignore it that is ok too. my job is just to cast the seed/offer truth. It's not to make it grow.

The bible is a map/turn by turn directions on how to find God. the 'proof' in the bible is to follow the directions so that you may find yourself at the feet of God. the fact that you will find God, provides all the backing one could ever need for the bible.

I've read the bible. Lots of contradictions. Lots of hate. Lots of hurting the minorities. Lots of putting too much power in the virtual hands of an entity who refuses to show himself to those who currently follow. Furthermore, why would I want to find myself at the feet of an imaginary entity who has done evil things and who has allowed evil things to be done (some in his name)?

Actually, the opening article reminds me a lot of a section from one of those crappy apologist books Steve Shives rips to pieces on his channel. I wonder if this is taken from that, or if it's just a coincidence.
