Also bring one verse, where it emphasizes to women to treat men kindly. One. It seems God is a feminist since it told men to treat women kindly but never told women to treat men kindly? Surely God knows that yes some men are treated not kindly by women, does he not?

Feminism is, succinctly put, "...the radical notion that women are people." So by your description, above, you're a feminist.*my bold* Oh I wasn't meaning to imply he actually considers women his equals, or is in any traditional sense a feminist. I was simply pointing out that his basic position was a statement of actual feminism, after which he proceeds to build a straw-man (or woman, I suppose?) based out of the most radical versions he could find to point to... ...which is, ironically, exactly what he complains about when people do to Muslims. I spend a shockingly huge part of my (limited) time on Facebook, arguing with conservative friends about why they can't point to radical examples of violent Islam, such as bombs exploding in crowds, and then say "Well Muslims do thus...". For a person like Atlas to see it so clearly in his own religion, but then make the identical mistake with regard to feminists, is sad-yet-hilarious. Generalizing from the most radical examples you can find is a straw-man argument. I have read much of the literature to which he points, and I can agree that many are more radical than I can support in any way-- but the average feminist, just like the average Muslim, is nothing like what the bigots depict. In other words, it was my way of shocking him into realizing what he was doing. (After all, he is closer to the average feminist than the straw-men he's describing.) Apparently, I failed. It was very late.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost
I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love. I don't really understand what the connection is between your fetish and feminism? In Christianity (and I assume mainstream Islam), it's not sinful to be kinky in the bedroom so long as your sexual partner is your spouse and everything is done with full consent and respect. Anyway, of course I think a woman hitting a man is also very very wrong, but I think a man hitting a woman is more wrong because men were given stronger/bigger physical bodies and they should use that God given strength to protect those who are weaker, not hurt them. With great power comes great responsibility and all that. Hitting anyone is ugly. But hitting someone who is smaller and weaker than you, is uglier. Especially if you were specifically given that strength in order to protect them.

I find the term "feminism" to be redundant, at least within my own beliefs.

Firstly, There is no less wrong or more wrong when it comes to physical abuse. Secondly, you need to stop portraying women as weaklings. Finally, I'm quite physically strong but I take issue with someone telling me that all women are entitled to my protection just because I'm strong. Anyway, I don't like the term feminist because to most people it seems to signify just women's rights and I don't blame them because the most outspoken and popular feminists are also the stupid ones who ignore gender equality. Though equality is tough word. Men and women are indeed different and have evolved to be adept at different roles in society. I think if instead of feminism, if people stick to humanism that should be enough to achieve that hard sought gender equality without all the confusion. Violence should never be the answer to anything. Male on Female Violence tends to get more attention because generally speaking, men are stronger than women. (If I hit a man, he's probably barely going to feel it. Though I've never hit a man. My sister on the other hand, could probably kick your average guy's ass. She never has either, but if she did I'm sure that men would probably ridicule him for being beat up by a girl as much as a woman would, even though she's a kickboxer who knows Jiu Jitsu and Taekwondo) And when someone stronger initiates violence against someone weaker, then it's perceived as far worse. This is in part because people have accepted violence as an answer.
I absolutely identify as a Feminist. Yes, there are radicals. There's radicals in pretty much every ideology. There's prominent atheists who've said things that not only do i not like, but that I would not tolerate if ever said to my face. Radicals do not define an ideology. People tend to only let radicals identify an ideology for an ideology they already disagree with. Imagine if we assocaited all muslims with radical muslims. Or all Christians with Radical Christians. People have somehow got this idea that being a Feminist means you can't care about men's rights. That's ridiculous. Yes, I advocate for Paid Maternity leave. Because as a mother, I know recuperating from giving birth takes a lot of time. guess what? I think men should get paid paternity leave too. In fact I think men should get an equal amount of time, even though they don't have to recuperate like women do. They still need to bond with their child just as much as a mother does. Somehow this surprises some people. Mostly idiots who don't get that being a feminist doesn't mean you're a man hater. Because they've let radicals define the ideology, because it's easier for them that way. When you have people saying that "Feminists are just ugly women who can't get a date", people who accuse women of being on their period (a biological function) and leaders who suggest that women have a way of shutting the whole thing down, or that some women are easy to rape or that what they're wearing was why they were raped... those are problems that need to be dealt with. (The last one should have you men's rights activists fighting against it too, since it's misandry to suggest that men are animals who have no control over themselves.) you have a problem with how women are viewed. Feminism isn't perfect. But nothing is. You might as well not identify as anything if you're expecting perfection.
The whole tone of Church teaching in regard to woman is, to the last degree, contemptuous and degrading. - Elizabeth Cady Stanton
