Theists are a minority in Europe, deists on the rise.

Theists are a minority in Europe, deists on the rise.
I just realized something:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_atheism

Even though atheists are still a small minority, deists are a very big one as well, meaning theists are getting scarce. And the figures on that page are 6 years old, meaning they probably have progressed since.

Follow-up question: is there anything wrong or dangerous with deism ?

A god who doesn't communicate, left no messages, has no morals...

Nope, don't see how it could have any normativity.

What void said is true. I look at a deist's beliefs with the same amount of confusion as an "doctrinal" theist. Why do you believe in God(s)?

Oh, well at least deists are not trying to kill other people, or burn gays etc...

I just don't think fr0d0 has a clue what normativity is.

It's because he's a Christian. Tongue

Wait a minute.....Deists ARE theists.

If they weren't, they'd be atheists.

All you need to be a "theist" is a belief in a ridiculous god.

As opposed to the non ridiculous ones? - Let's face it, that's a complete tautology Smile

Deism is explicitly non-religious and impersonal, that's what counts when evaluating it's possible harm, which was the question Rwandrall asked.

I'd rather see all 'personal god' theists become deists than vice verse.

Deists are much better than theists, on a GRAND scale. Im not talking about those half-assed Christians..I mean REAL deists. Thomas Paine type deists.

Wrong? Im fine with deism...it really depends on if they try to legislate their deism.

Dangerous? Ask the King of England what happens when Deists get together and make plans on the other side of the Atlantic.
