Maurice Hilleman is easily the important and least known figure of the 20th century. He saved uncounted tens of millions of lives, but almost no one has ever heard of him. If you haven't, have a wee google.

How could I forget this one.
Did you know (you probably do, as I've said this before) that as Buzz Aldrin was exiting the Eagle lander on the Moon in 1969, he was bursting for the toilet. He couldn't nip behind a boulder, so he just had to go in his suit. Meaning that although Neil Armstrong will always be the first human to step onto the surface of another world, Aldrin is the first person ever to piss on one.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Did you know that white people in the USA used to make leather goods out of the skin of slaves?

A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost
I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

Did you know that rainbows are actually circles?
They should be called raincircles.
Just like, as with earrings, rings for your finger should be called fingerings.
Like when you're in a fancy restaurant and you bow down on one knee in front of that special woman in your life and give her a nice fingering in front of everybody.

Speaking of fingerings proposals, did you know (and if you did I want to know how )
I proposed to the tune of "Everything I do" by Bryan Adams.
I used a necklace rather than a ring, a special one I knew she liked.
I was psyching myself up to propose when Emma got home from work, but she unexpectedly invited me to see her in her lunch break. I had to try and act normal, it felt like my head was going to explode! I thought it must be so obvious, as I'm awful at keeping anything from her. Somehow, I pulled it off, and I totally surprised her when she eventually came home. And she said yes of course!
We worked out that our dog Opal was born roughly at the time I proposed (we adopted her from a rescue centre shortly after we got married).

Did you know
When I was ten, my mother married into the mafia. I met John Gotti a few months later. I also spent some time with the Gambini children when we were all kids.

On the outside looking in, perhaps. My mother separated from the guy she married four years later. Three months after that happened, her ex-husband's house burned down and the FBI came to my school and to my sister's school and pulled us out and interrogated us for five hours without our mother's knowledge or consent because they thought one of us did it.
They are one of the reasons why, for the last ten years I have refused to have a house land line (phone). The mafia has tapped our phones long after my mother and her exhusband separated and they both remarried other people. That's the sort of shit that scares me.
