What the establishment missed is the abandonment of the establishment. The fact that it took Romney the entire primary to put away a field of extremely weak and fringe candidates should have been a red flag. That's what they dropped the ball on. Trump has gotten a couple million more votes than Romney had at this time. And Romney picked up a couple more States than McCain had won.
Trump needs to stick to his original message if he wants to win.

In 2012, Obama won the election and a large part of why he won was because the quasi-racist talk coming from the Republicans really mobilized the hispanic vote. That doesn't bode well for the candidate who started his campaign by calling Mexicans drug dealers and rapists. I can see a repeat of 2012, not to mention he's made more than a few comments that have pissed off another Democratic voting bloc: women.
And I think the party elites realize he can't win the general election, which is why they want Ted Cruz to win. Unfortunately, Trump has enough popular support that the only way Cruz can really win would be to basically ignore the Republican voters. It becomes a lose/lose situation for them and I can't help but think, they need to start thinking towards the 2020 election and how they're going to avoid falling into a similar trap. The hispanic vote is irrelevant to Trump because it's located in just a few Blue States that he doesn't need to win anyway. He will still carry Texas. Trump could carry some of the Eastern Blue States which could put him over the top.
You're deluded. Hispanics are everywhere to varying degrees. So are blacks. And of course women are 50% everywhere. He's got something like a 70% disapproval rate with women already and he was stupid enough to play the gender card with Hillary in the last week. You're living in an absolute fantasy world if you think Trump will win any blue states. He will far more likely lose some traditionally red states like Arizona and very possibly Texas.

Hahahahahahahahahahaha
He's toning it down because he WILL lose if he keeps it up. He may have independents but he has pissed off far too many minorities and women that if he were to keep doing it, whatever gains you think he has made, he will get killed, especially with women and he has been tanking with women especially.
Romney's 47% comment killed him and Trump has said far worse.
I hope he does keep that shit up. I hope he keeps calling Mexicans rapists and talking about women's periods. But even if he does not, the DNC adds will remind the sane what a sick demagogue narcissist he is.
Trump is damaged goods and the GOP knows it. That is why Ted is doing what he is doing.

You're a fucking moron. Try this on for size.
From the article: Finally, here's one of the biggest storylines we'll be tracking if we're headed for a Clinton-vs.-Trump general election. "Registration among Hispanic voters is skyrocketing in a presidential election cycle dominated by Donald Trump and loud GOP cries to close the border," The Hill writes. "Arturo Vargas, executive director of the National Association of Elected and Appointed Officials, projects 13.1 million Hispanics will vote nationwide in 2016, compared to 11.2 million in 2012 and 9.7 million in 2008."
That's 17% more Hispanic voters for 2016 compared to 2012. You're not going to see a net gain in Republican voters in the general; you're going to see a net loss.
I would be unappreciative if I didn't thank you though. I do appreciate you and others like you that have guaranteed a Democrat win in November. I also appreciate the agony you and fellow deluded Trump supporters have put the Republican party through.

They don't matter a rat's ass in the Presidential election if they are in California, Nevada, New Mexico, or Colorado and if they vote Dem.

A lot of them are in Texas and Arizona. Your selective listing of Democrat states is only indicative of your wishful thinking.
I will bathe in your tears when Trump loses. I will sponge them up and use them to wash my sweaty armpits.
And I will laugh at you, loudly and long.

Fool. Colorado and New Mexico are swing states. So are Arizona, Florida and Nevada. http://potus2016.org/swing-states-election-2016/ Add enough Latinos, and Texas will be. Guess where the are a lot of new Hispanic voters? Nevada, Arizona, and Florida. http://www.pewhispanic.org/2016/01/19/lo...lectorate/

So it simply doesn't matter in the Presidential election if everyone in those States vote Dem in this election.
Based on the 2012 election the Dems would have to pick up over 212,000 votes to swing Arizona Blue.
Right now Hillary is losing votes compared to where she was in 2008. Since there are more voters now than there was in 2008 she should have gained some more instead of losing them. She's going to get the nomination but expect her to get her ass handed to her in November.

Oh, and in Texas Hillary needs to pick up over 1,261,000 new votes to out vote the Repubs based on the 2012 election. Good luck with that.
