Welcome.
I'm glad there are people in the world who have the patience to be teachers.

Welcome! Treat yourself to the cookie buffet. It's free, except for donations.
Also, there's a theist buffet and a baby buffet. And there's jelly. The best you'll ever find. Welcome from the recently adopted forum momma. Yo momma. Enjoy the bait, and feel free to bite.

Yes, lots of people hate us because we use critical thinking and logic.
They are well established tools of the devil as you know.
The truth is life is a little simpler without doing the metal gymnastics needed to bind the sky fairy to reality.
Maybe we're just lazy and taking the easy way out....who knows!

Welcome. You sound like one of us for sure!
I would, however, caution you to not try to deconvert kids. I know you said you just talk about issues like overcoming misogyny, etc., but I take religious freedom pretty seriously-- if they cannot proselytize to our kids, you should not be going after the religious beliefs of those children.
Granted, I'd love to be able to stop children's minds from being poisoned by religion, but I think the secular part of my Secular Humanism wins out, here.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost
I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.
