But to be more specific, people insult each others for different reasons, even though the previously mentioned underlying causes are apparent and apply to us all. I mostly do it to connect with people deeply and fast and help them better themselves in the process.

And in the end, I like to believe I am capable of understanding the place from whence the individual slurring is coming. Because the words will have no effect on me, that I already know, due to the fact that I am personally stronger than the language directed at me. Instead, I prefer to comprehend that there is a particular reasoning, although I may not understand it at the time, behind the words being directed at me. I may understand I am undeserving of the words, but I must also understand that the words might be coming from a place of fear rather than actual anger. The complexities of humanity is that we react negatively to what is negatively projected our way. Rather than retort in such a way, perhaps the better solution is one of understanding than blind senselessness.

What is the end goal if one uses, knowing full-well it's derogatory, a slur? I'll go even further: what's the end goal if one is applying it to a complete stranger? This is very true; I epitomize it at times. However, just because something is doesn't mean it ought to be which is, I think, the point of many of the participants, myself included. I have honestly become so upset that I have used the "N" word on my black boyfriend. The only motivation was me being extremely upset. That is called being human. It happens. For real.
