Atheists and Retards
RE: Atheists and Retards
But to be more specific, people insult each others for different reasons, even though the previously mentioned underlying causes are apparent and apply to us all. I mostly do it to connect with people deeply and fast and help them better themselves in the process.

And in the end, I like to believe I am capable of understanding the place from whence the individual slurring is coming. Because the words will have no effect on me, that I already know, due to the fact that I am personally stronger than the language directed at me. Instead, I prefer to comprehend that there is a particular reasoning, although I may not understand it at the time, behind the words being directed at me. I may understand I am undeserving of the words, but I must also understand that the words might be coming from a place of fear rather than actual anger. The complexities of humanity is that we react negatively to what is negatively projected our way. Rather than retort in such a way, perhaps the better solution is one of understanding than blind senselessness.

What is the end goal if one uses, knowing full-well it's derogatory, a slur? I'll go even further: what's the end goal if one is applying it to a complete stranger?

I agree with your assessment regarding the OP.

However, haven't you ever just said something that you later regretted stating?

There is no logic behind what comes out of our mouths sometimes.  Sometimes, we just become so overwhelmed with life and what is happening around us that we literally have no control over what we state.

Only later, after we have calmed down, during reflection, are we capable of understanding that our emotions got the better of us.

This is very true; I epitomize it at times.

However, just because something is doesn't mean it ought to be which is, I think, the point of many of the participants, myself included.

So how's that working out for you?

The motivation you seek is merely human emotions getting out of control. I have honestly become so upset that I have used the "N" word on my black boyfriend. The only motivation was me being extremely upset. That is called being human.

It happens. For real.

Wut. You say cruel things to people to connect with them deeply and help them better themselves? Dodgy

That method is working really well for you. You obviously connect deeply with people.
