Great... now movie posters are sexist?

Apparently this:
is what counts as sexist these days.
"In our enthusiasm to show the villainy of the character Apocalypse we didn't immediately recognize the upsetting connotation of this image in print form," Fox said in a statement. "Once we realized how insensitive it was, we quickly took steps to remove those materials. We apologize for our actions and would never condone violence against women."

Yeah, because images depicting violence against men are acceptable, right? Nobody seems to care about that. Oh but those aren't >>>true<<< feminists... I forgot...
Fuck it. This is just sad. I'll pay anybody 3 billion dollars to build a rocket and get me off this planet. I'll colonize the universe by myself.
If pinkie pie isn't real, then how do you explain the existence of ponies, huh? If ponies are real, then that's proof that Pinkie Pie is real. Checkmate, christians!

It's almost comically sexist in that to me, it's basically a scene of domestic smurf violence. Just keep looking at it, it'll come to you. Read the caption, smile...repeat.

Really? It's a man choking a woman
While I do not agree that it's even remotely sexist; I have a very hard time believing that you can't see why it would be called sexist by some people.

If it was an effeminate man he was choking, would it be considered homophobic?

As long as it's smurfpron...I think it's okay. I think you have to make the other guy overtly gay before it stuck....ans she's certainly overtly female, lol. That's where it steps out of the safety of fetishism I guess, lol. Who selected that frame, I wonder? I bet that browsing history would be interesting. She's getting choked real purty for the camera, too..don't you think? I don't know that girls look like that when you choke them with your enormous - almost regal manliness.

I don't see it as sexist personally, but I can understand people taking issue with it from a graphic violence point of view. It's very graphic and blatant for a public picture that children are going to see. X-Men is not a children's movie, so if they're going to advertise it they could have at least done a non-violent shot.

"Ironically like the nativist far-Right, which despises multiculturalism, but benefits from its ideas of difference to scapegoat the other and to promote its own white identity politics; these postmodernists, leftists, feminists and liberals also use multiculturalism, to side with the oppressor, by demanding respect and tolerance for oppression characterised as 'difference', no matter how intolerable." - Maryam Namazie

It's not exactly a man choking a woman but a male something choking a female something, which, according to the X Men picture I had the displeasure of watching on tv, is perfectly capable to put on a good fight.
