Royake Wrote:In advance: I am not calling "Troll". I am questioning the OP's "interview" method.
Gissy, in looking at your posts over the past few pages you are asking single personal questions to posters about one point in their reply, then when you receive a reply you ask another personal question in the same manner. No mention is made to any point or meaning in the reply, simply another personal question.
This interview method, (I use that phrase since you've stated that this is all for an essay you have the thought of an idea of writing), reminds me a lot of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Which is a theraputic method where a therapist tries to help a paitient change their thought behavior patterns by asking questions aimed at getting them to activly question negative thoughts and behaviors.
CBT uses the Socratic Method.
Cognitive-behavioral therapists want to gain a very good understanding of their clients' concerns. That's why they often ask questions. They also encourage their clients to ask questions of themselves, like, "How do I really know that those people are laughing at me?" "Could they be laughing about something else?"
You may want to change tactics and actually engage the other posters in conversations which will provide you with far more material for your essay, and will result in you gaining more acceptance as an honest poster. If this is the interview method you are intentionally using then be prepared for a long, rough road.
I can understand where they are may be coming from... You have stated nothing more than.... essay...what for, a Psycology major??
I am surprised you lasted as long as 9 pages. Your first violation was on page 2.
I agree with Zen and others...learn from YOUR mistake. Have you found an 'angle' yet??? Did you actually get to

AF.com are seriously retarded teens without a cause. We've even had them whine over here to get people banned here as well. Luckily we're not such a narrow minded bunch.
As for your conduct here, so far you've conducted yourself extremely well. We do get the occasional wolf in sheeps clothing when after asking what look like innocuous questions turn around and bite. And then the pessimists glory that their suspicions were correct.
Dude, you're going to have to let your actions speak, stick around, make good posts and before long people won't be calling you a troll. To be fair you did nothing to help your case.

So your telling me that you use the same username when you join another forum, really.
Pretty much, yes.

I did nothing that is trollish. There is no case. I'm a newbie. I should be welcomed, and it's not down to me to disprove being a troll. If people make accusations in public, that's their wrongdoing, and I have no obligation to disprove them. I didn't come here to justify myself, and unless a situation arises where me being a troll is a serious possibility in the eyes of the majority, I shouldn't have to. Burden of proof. You even upped my reputation earlier. What changed? In fact, whatever it is, is it important enough to discuss it publically? Go through your rules and tell me which ones I'm breaking.
I didn't mean me, I mean for the people who do consider you a troll you aren't going to convince them you aren't by saying so, nor by posting a thread with the title "I'm a troll" to convince them you'll have to stick around, make good posts and get along with people - If you can do that then nobody has any reason to doubt you.
You aren't breaking rules, you just aren't trusted to be legitimate by some people. Like I said, until you break the rules I couldn't care less whether or not you are legit, I like your inquisitive nature so I gave you a rep, if you're serious about posting then stick around and make some good posts and people will stop doubting you. I can't make people trust you, you will have to show them that you intend to make real contributions, sorry if you think that's unfair but it's out of my hands, don't let it frustrate you and stick around.
