Russia and China, paragons of equitable trade deals? Canada.....you really want to fuck with US and our easy money? I'd hate to think that I'm breaking news here, but the UK is going to get the shitty end of trade deals for some time, they just gave up their negotiating power willingly.

Well, you know what they say about the sinking ship.
Quote:Scotland is 'highly likely' to have a second independence referendum after it voted overwhelmingly to remain in the European Union.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said the option "must be on the table and it is on the table" during a press conference this morning.

I'd say contact the embassy. They'll probably want proof of your father's citizenship and proof that he's your father. If you do it after the UK frormally leaves the EU they may want you to renounce your status of being a subject of Her Brittanic Majesty.

That really depends. I don't know about dual citizenship laws in Germany, but I think they're allowing it. As opposed to my country. So there's probably no need to revoke the UK citizenship.

I hear Scotland ran a clean Remain campaign and it paid off, while Cameron slung shit around. Between people hating him, and his campaign tactics, I wonder how much he contributed to our loss.
I am sad to see Scotland/Ireland possibly detaching, but I totally understand and support them doing so.

I would rather say, he didn't actively contribute. But like many mainstream politicians, he didn't take a very active role in preventing the worst either. They all give the impression of being helpless when confronted with populist movements.

Actually Scotland gets back from Westminster what it pays in taxes pretty much. And that's before you factor in the North Sea oil revenues, 90% of which lie in Scottish waters.
There's only two UK regions that get significantly higher government support than taxes they pay London and the South East. Even Northern Ireland the area most dependant on state intervention receives only £200m more than it pays in, it survives on EU money.

It would just require a few heads to be lopped off ...
With EU out of the picture - I imagine the monarchy may be the next scapegoat, few years down the line, when it becomes clear to even the most hard-headed nationalists, that the fantastic prosperity promised by the "Leave" campaigners isn't going to happen.
Although I suspect the muslim minority will be the more likely target.
Next scapegoats will be the old favourite standby of the English, the celts.

Germany only allows it in certain very narrow circumstances, one of which is the other country is an EU member. If Mathilda were declared a German citizen at birth she would have been allowed dual nationality too (she might even now, the literature I see is sketchy on that). But there is very little else that allows dual nationality under German law.
