Petition: second referendum for leaving the EU

RE: Petition: second referendum for leaving the EU
The press release made it sound very much like they had no plan whatsoever and are now making it up as they go along.

I wonder if anyone expected it to go through.

They never have. You can scratch the surface of any given right wing messiah and all you find is a void. They've got zilch besides inciting fear, xenophobia and nationalism.

Assuming a confirmation vote of some kind, would the EU sweeten the deal, so to speak, to sway repealing the brexit ??

Might have been a good negotiating ploy if Britain ultimately stays, but the EU implements some practical reforms, like laying off 2/3 of the bureaucrats . . .

Why not a 'low overhead' version of the EU ??

I also note quite a few Brits apparently were lying to the pollsters, couldn't happen here right ?
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

How far do you think, the community could sweeten the deal even more than it has been already sweetened for the UK? They got virtually everything they demanded in recent negotiations. At some point, you have to make a stand to ensure the community remains a community and not a cherry picking contest.

Privileges and duties do need some balance to have meaning.

If only we could export the US Congress over there.

They'd be sure to do absolutely jack shit, there'd be no exiting or entering going on anywhere.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I'm trying to work out the probability that none of this is happening.

I don't understand how 1,269,501 people (2% of the uk population and 3.78% of the total voters) is considered close??

No I don't think you can ask for a do over, wise though that would be. At this point I think you must go to rock/paper/scissors. Best of luck, Rob.

Well, we can certainly ask.

If two people were in a room, and 52% of them wanted to blow up the house, what would I do?
