Your reading comprehension skills need work. Nowhere did I defend Islam nor did I claim the existence of a Christian theocracy. In fact I was quite clear regarding the reason none exist.
Your 'few bad apples' No True Scotsman defense is ridiculous. Abrahamic religious adherents ascribe to special texts that are openly hostile to homosexuals. The few bad apples can simply point to the text to support their position, the 'others' such as yourself must rationalize a position contrary to what your sacred text suggests.
And from my viewpoint (and most likely from God's too) these "'others' such as yourself" types are apostates.
I'm not inclined to give much weight to the arguments the folks in that category make when they come to AF, as they bluntly, aren't doing their own faith correctly.
Their remedy is to either get square with their God, announce a revelation and instigate their own schism, agnosticism or atheism.
Attempting to put their own spin on their ''faith" while repeatedly contradicting their deity is essentially the serving two masters problem. If they want to be the CEO of their own church, fine, but running amok with the heresies and apostasies while espousing fealty to the Lord isn't going to convince any of the atheists here of anything Hey there Vorlon, Im not quite sure I understand what your saying there so if I'm off base just let me know. Are you saying that because I myself have committed a transgression in the form of sexual immorality it makes me an apostate? If so how many sins did I commit before I fell into the apostate category? Matter of fact, by that logic ill bet you have never met anybody that "does their faith correctly" And a side note, Im here to learn a few things and get different perspectives so no offence, but I'm not really interested in how much weight you put into what I say. On the same note, I'm not here to convince anybody of anything.

Hey Thump, Yes the OT commands the Jews to stone gays at that point in time 4000 or so years ago. That's a Jewish series of books. Written for Jewish people. Some sects of Judaism still follow the laws written in it. It still carries relevance to Christians but we don't follow it by any means. Christians follow the teachings of Christ.
Some Christians do. Many Christians utilize the Old Testament.
You're courting three problems: No True Scotsman, cherry-picking (not a formal fallacy, but certainly fallacious thinking), and moral relativity. Step carefully.

It's still the same God, though, and according to the trinity, God and Jesus are one. So essentially, that's Jesus in the OT telling people to go kill homosexuals.

The Christian understanding of apostasy is "a willful falling away from, or rebellion against, Christian truth.
So, if Jesus said 'up' in regards to some circumstance and someone maintains he said 'down' they're 'not doing their religion right'. I'd also assert that if Jesus said 'up' and someone claiming to be a follower maintains he said nothing at all, that would also constitute apostasy.

Indeed.
So when open and notorious apostates (and bless those heretics too !!) come knocking on our door here and want to promulgate their (not God's) take on God's Word, in order to (supposedly) manifest and inspire Salvation in our hearts, it's cause for derision (justly) and castigation (biblically) and while we don't give them the bum's rush, it is something to think about it.

According to the biblical fairy tale sexual immoral people won't get into the golden cube. But since the golden cube is only for certain members of the twelve tribes of Israel does it really matter? Besides, there's no sex in the golden cube anyway so if you don't get it now you won't be getting any later.

So, is what your saying that if a Christian commits sin, they become an apostate? If so, there has never been any Christians in existence. Except one guy. And I never maintained that he said the opposite of what he said.

I respectfully disagree. I don't claim to speak for ALL Christians, just me. I'm sure some Christians do follow the OT and they are still Christians. I personally believe they have a misunderstanding of the new covenant but it doesn't mean they aren't true Christians. But you cant blame that on the bible or Christ. You must blame the individuals. And I will need you to clarify how I'm cherry picking if you wouldn't mind. I'm afraid I'm not clear on the moral relativity comment you made either.
