Additionally, all police robots have cameras, presumably there is video of the detonation. I'm assuming it will eventually be seen, it will be in training videos for law enforcement now.

It's hard to imagine a more inappropriate police department to attack. Dallas has really cleaned up its act the last several years, complaints against the police are way down, they were making an effort and it was having visible results. Not only did they not get the police officers that are accused of executing people on the ground, they didn't even get officers in a department with a bad reputation.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

I'd like to see a march for solidarity between the police and the community. One of those "we are not all power crazy asshole with guns" and "we are not all police hating assholes with guns" things. Solidarity is about bringing people together.

I'd like to see that too. So it is way past time both society and cops stop allowing one industry and one lobby hold everyone hostage. Fear sells. Scare the shit out of gun owners, sell more to gun owners. Scare the shit out of cops, sell more guns to cops. Blame blacks and mentally ill and "terrorist" and say "if all of society had more guns".
The NRA is like Daffy Duck pitting Foghorn against the Beagle. Tell each of them the other is then enemy, and sell booby traps to both sides. Yes, whites and blacks and cops do need to unite, I agree, and put an end to the bullshit fear peddling and flooded market of guns.

It would be premature. I very much appreciate the many police officers who sincerely act with the best integrity they can muster under tough conditions. But they absolutely have to start speaking up through their unions when one of their own goes bad. And prosecutors need to show more integrity too. Until that happens, as much as I want to show support for the police, I'm not on board.
