I think we all suspected a bit of cut throating and conniving was going on between candidates and party elitists. But I don't think anybody, including yourself, realized to what degree and how high up the ladder the cut throating was happening.

RE: Live stream of Dem Convention.
I'm cant recall having ever thought anything other than that politics was flat out cut-throat conniving, with candidates bought and paid for by, largely...the same interests on both sides of the aisle.

But then again....I became aware of politics under Bush the First, a former CIA muckety muck.  That set the tone.

Got a further education from Slick Willy (I might have to start calling him Clinton the 1st) who made it real by running through the block I grew up in when he was in the bay - sue me..before that it was always something that happened somewhere else.

Laughed as Bush the Second went from Yale to Yall (that man cut my turkey btw, didn't strike me as the idiot he played on TV).

Now, with Obama.....I didn't vote for him, either time....but I have to admit I was upset when he confirmed every cynical fiber that had grown in my body.  That he couldn't live up to the hope...and wasn't the change people believed in.  I suppose, at least, he prevented my entire life from being under the shadow of just two families in the white house.....giving me a little room to imagine - when I was too drunk or really hopped up on Murica...that we weren't an oligarchy. OFC that shit is ruined...because......

Today...I'm staring down the barrel of Clinton the Second, or the physical incarnation of everything that's wrong in american culture in The Trumpster, and wondering whether anything beyond this point can ever bring us back up out of the pit that they've all dug, for every moment of my life that I can remember.  The Risen fucking Christ could run for Prez next term and somehow....I don't think I'd believe that he was remotely a decent person or any change from what came before. I've just accepted that american politics can;t produce a decent candidate anymore. That if they ever encounter one, they'll either grind that person down or spit them out. It;s just a business, and business is too good to let a little thing like governance, or "we the people" , interfere.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

It reminds me of steroids in baseball.  We all knew, but when they had that hearing with McGwire, Sosa, Palmeiro, and company it made it uncomfortably real.

Bernie Sanders Supporters Just Staged a Massive Walkout at the DNC:

http://usuncut.com/politics/bernie-sande...lkout-dnc/

I've heard of a plan for a walkout during Clinton's speech as well. It seems all the pleas for unity are not enough to make Sanders supporters forget how their own party turned against them. Good. The DNC have a real nerve calling for "unity" after the revelations this week. What they really need to be calling for is forgiveness, that and a plan for changing the inner workings of the party itself.

I agree with many of your points, but I have to disagree that Obama did nothing.

He did a great deal for the people. Maybe he did not do anything for you personally.

However, in the end, especially when it comes to the two parties who may still be financed by the same corporations, the dems will always be more for the people than the repubs.

Because in the end Trump is a better option than Clinton?

Idiots need to stop being idiots.

Trump will destroy this country worse than Bush.

No, because the DNC screwed over Sanders numerous times and actively tried to sabotage his campaign. The DNC chair resigned and immediately got a job with Clinton's campaign. If anything, that's a promotion, because it will inevitably lead to a position in Clinton's administration.

If the DNC want the votes of the people they betrayed, they will need to do better than that. As I said, they need to stop calling for unity and start groveling. DWS needs to be removed from the campaign as well. As long as she's around, the campaign is poisoned.

Only idiots will vote for Trump. After all, there are only two options from which to choose, unless you think the majority will magically write in Bernie's name. Good luck with that. Seriously, learn that a dem is always better than a repub.

A poisoned dem campaign as opposed to a poisoned repub campaign?

How are you this dumb?

Hey man! I don't like being dropped.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great
