Look, I don't totally disagree. I saw him on O'Reilly once and he's not very good at explaining much of anything.

But if someone can't explain anything, what makes you believe he understands anything? Aren't you putting all your faith in his capacity to choose the right experts to understand and respond? Do you really think his cut throat approach to business is desirable (if it is even at all applicable)? How is this bumpkin the appropriate person to do the deciding for a nation? Trump never!

How's that going to happen? From what I read,  it at least seemes we might have actual leverage to make that the starting point for a negotiation to solve our immigration problems in partnership with Mexico. Maybe. It's different and worth thinking about. But you wouldn't know that from listening to him talk.

These must be the positions his appointed experts have advised him to take .. at least during the campaign. Do any of them reflect Trump's values? Does he, in your opinion, have good/laudable values?

And I don't respect that. Neither do I trust someone like that with the position of the president.

It's a challenge to take him on his own terms.

And I hope turning down Trump is a challenge you will rise to before it is too late.

And that is the problem with Hillary she is like do you stand by me instead of running a campaign like that she should say
i'll stand by you. If she ran her campaign and actually gave a fuck about the working class and she would do a hell of a lot better
than what she is now. That's what people want in a president so when Trump goes oh hey i know it's hard for the working class
you know what ill bring jobs back get American working again and increase federal minimum wage.  When people hear that
and see that on TV it's what draws people to vote for Trump no one i mean gets drawn to Hillary with her ads they are
focused attack ads using Trump then saying kids shouldn't be watching this... like.. really now children cant vote nor do they
care about the president going to be elected politics isn't for children. If she came out with a ad supporting her positions and
frankly well policies...she would have no voters.  There is a reason why she said she isn't for the TPP only to get voters..

You truly have no idea what Hillary has done in her history, then. She has an unassailable history with families and children. This is a verifiable fact.

I don't think you actually know her positions, dyre. Everything you say shows that you just hate the woman, and have no idea what she's done in her life for working class families, minorities, and the underprivileged, or her actual positions.

She is not running a campaign asking "Do you stand by me?" The DNC is using the tag line "I'm with her" at the convention. "Stronger Together" is her official campaign slogan. Literally everything you say is such easily debunked tripe, I am astounded at your lack of skepticism. Does anything that confirms what you already believe make it past the BS filter?
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Theory #1 : Trump speaks like regular folks because he has never read a book of any substance. Certainly not Dostoevsky or Walt Whitman. Tony Schwarz - ghostwriter for Trump's "Art of the DeaL" says that is the case:

https://www.minnpost.com/eric-black-ink/...-sociopath

Theory #2 : He is a master troll. This is an older interview with Scott Adams (Dilbert) that supports that premise :

RE: Trump Speaks Like Regular Folk
I blame military technology for Trump's rise to power. Historically, it used to be that the cannon fodder had to breed at a fast enough rate to make up the numbers that were lost when being sent armed only with pitch forks as a distraction for the enemy's cannons. There isn't any point in educating walking fertiliser that is soon going to be smeared across some muddy field somewhere.

But since America lost Vietnam because the war became unpopular at home due to mass media revealing what war is actually like, they've spent too much money on keeping their cannon fodder alive. Trouble is that the cannon fodder then come home alive and vote for someone like Trump or Bush.

America should spend less money on the military but instead arrange hunting trips abroad for rednecks to get stuck in war zones around the world. It wouldn't cost much to arrange a safari trip for thousands of Trump supporters to hunt down IS in Iraq for example. The rednecks get access to loads of fun boom sticks and explosives and get themselves killed in the process. America saves loads of money and rids itself of idiotic Trump supporters.

Admit it, how many gun nuts on this very forum would love a chance to legitimately wear camouflage, be given an assault rifle, a 9mm pistol and a bag of grenades. It would mean the end of the Zombie film genre though as gun nuts would no longer have to fantasise about shooting moving targets.

Even better, set it up as a subsidised industry so it's out of the government's control. It might have stopped Russia from invading the Ukraine if they knew that the following summer an armed militia would have been booking their summer vacation there.

I couldn't help but laugh. The irony here is that it's well known that Hillary's accent and language use magically changes depending on which side of the Mason-Dixon Line she's giving a speech.

And yet America is the rightful heir to what was called Prussian militarism in the last century. It's got nothing to do with nazism to be clear. But it's got everything to do with promoting what we in Austria and Germany call secondary virtues today. Obedience, nationalism, greet the flag, glorifying the army, support the army, no matter what.

These are all the hallmarks of Willhelm's Germany at the turn of the century.

The role of the executive branch also includes effectively enforcing the law, implementing policies, and managing government programs. That doesn't happen by talking from a podium. It happens by making decisions, giving clear directions, hiring the right people, and supervising performance. In the 24-hour news cycle we've been trained to focus on the talk. OMG Senator X said what!?!. OMG, did you hear that clip from Governor Y!?! How insensitive. How telling.

It's all chatter. I think we need a kind of Freakanomics approach. Let's start by assuming everything we think we know is distorted by ideology and look at the real data, try different approaches, and actually see what works, rather than what lines who's pocket. But we cannot have those conversations if people are going to nit-pik over every word for so-called code words and dog-whistles. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
Trump has massive impulse control problems.  Not just with speaking, but that is a place we can clearly see it on a regular basis.

How will he be good at any of the things you mentioned?  Impulsively making a decision, or enforcing a law he impulsively implimented?  Management???  ha!

I agree all the pocket lining, in crowd stuff is very bad, but Trump's throw it all to the wind and do whatever he likes approach is not actually better.

I don't think Drumpfuck's goal is actually to be the president. Yes, he'd love to win the election, but doing the job, that's a whole other level of activity altogether (especially for a lazy shit like him). Godless in Dixie has a good blogpost on the idea over at patheos.com.

Yeah, what's the point of voting for the man who hates government so much that his whole raison d'etre is to run for the position at the apex of government?

That's what I don't understand about all strands of libertarianism. At least with proper anarchists, when they think government is evil they look to disengage themselves from it as much as possible. Libertarians on the other hand, think it's a valid tool for them to impose their views and prejudices on others.
