Ok, #2 I get. I do not understand that move politically. There is no way, to my mind, that this doesn't at the very least look like quid pro quo.
I do not think that choosing Kaine is a middle finger to progressives. I don't think she had progressives in mind with the pick obviously. But I don't think not catering to a group means she is saying "fuck you." I know our generation takes not paying attention to us as a fuck you, but in reality, it isn't.
Whether you believe her or not, her stated platform is pretty progressive:

Not that that matters, anyways. The oval office is not the one that makes progressive change. Progressive movements always start from the ground up. Local Sheriffs, Councilmen, State Legislators, Congressmen. That's how we make these changes.

I don't think the VP pick is a big deal either, but there are certainly some progressives who see it that way.
My main reason for not supporting her has always been her untrustworthiness. She's flip flopped back and forth on so many issues, in such a short space of time, that I honestly don't know what her actual positions are. You linked to her stated platform, but I just have a hard time believing that those are the actual positions she will support once elected, and that's important to me.
While it's true that the oval office generally isn't the one that makes progressive change, they can still guide the debate. Obamacare wouldn't have happened had it not been for the Obama administration fighting for it.

Absolutely. I don't trust Hillary either. But for at least 4 years, she'll need to back up on some of those promises.
Also, as I've stated, she has a pretty phenomenal track record that no one can deny being a catalyst for change, especially for minority or underprivileged people. In that regard--I do trust that she'll be a spark for change, but I don't know which direction.
I'm still researching the TPP. I, for one, haven't found anything that would be disastrous with it, but I am only through chapter 3. I'm sure the bad shit will be back loaded. I know it won't be a disaster either way. I think certain industries will be hit by it (textiles, for one) but I also see it as a major attractor for foreign business to America. But again, I will keep reading.
The third party candidates are not, to me, electable. Jill Stein is borderline anti-vax. I understand FDA skepticism, but to go that far with it is irresponsible. Also, I do not the numbers she is putting forth for Climate Change spending are even remotely tenable.
Gary Johnson seems like a joke to me. The Libertarian Party sure is.

I doubt reading the entire TPP is a good idea, especially if you don't have a background in economics. A lot of it is going to be written in language that most laypersons won't understand.
I would advise reading some of the "TPP explained" threads that crop up. The EFF did an AMA on reddit a few months ago where they have a go. They also have a page on their site which goes over how TPP might affect your digital rights: https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2015/12/ho...tal-rights
More generally, from what I've read, one of the main issues with TPP is that it allows foreign corporations to sue governments over legislation that might affect their business: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/03/26/busine....html?_r=0

I don't understand where you are coming from. Are you implying that everything that happened while she was secretary of state was her fault? That seems to be where you are going with this? Watched too much Benghazi on CSPAN or something. The other thing you're implying is that Trump knows anything about that region except it's where the brown people come from.
What do you think Secretary's of State do?

"The DNC has also informed Sanders delegates that they will have their credentials taken away for holding up anti-TPP signage as well"
Like I said yesterday, Terry McAuliffe, the close friend of the Clintons, let it slip that,of course, once in office Hilary will support TPP. He later did mental gymnastics because he knew that he shouldn't have let it slip. Anyone who doesn't see the danger of TPP needs to do more research - unless of course they work high up in a huge cooperation and stand to benefit from it - which I doubt many members here are.

SUSAN SARANDON SAYS DEMOCRATS CAN’T UNIFY PARTY BY TAKING VOICES AWAY
https://shadowproof.com/2016/07/27/susan...ices-away/
Quote:Susan Sarandon, a well-known actress and surrogate for the Bernie Sanders campaign, said at the Democratic National Convention, “I don’t think you unify by taking people’s voices away. That’s not unification.”
A press conference was called to support Nina Turner, a former Ohio state representative and prominent Sanders surrogate, who was silenced by the Democratic National Committee. She was scheduled to give a speech seconding the nomination of Sanders, but at the last minute, the DNC blocked her from speaking at the convention.
Asked about the walkout by hundreds of Sanders delegates and convention people, who are suppressing expression by ripping up signs, she said, “You unify by agreeing on the issues, not by taking people’s signs away when you disagree. So, if they’re trying to unify, I think they should change their strategy.”
Can we get #ImWithSarandon trending?

The superdelegates aren't doing their job. Their job is to give the Democratic Party the more electable candidate. It was a moronic decision to nominate Hilary.

You are still stuck with the two-party system, so shut up, do your duty to humanity and vote for Hilary to prevent a egomanic idiot from taking the White House.
It isn't the "two party" system that is a problem, it is the monopoly of power that is. India has an absurd amount of political parties and far more poverty and still stuck in a Caste system which our 1% would love to replicate.
