Nope, just saying it looks different from the kids perspective. And it sticks. The definition of safe also changes over time. I had a mother carrying safe to a whole new neurotic level. Not saying you're doing it. Of course one should do everything to keep their offspring from harm. Within reason.

I think all this "health and safety!" regulation is just to stop people suing when they have an accident.

You'll never stop accidents. There's just too many fucking stupid people, who (purely for example) are too busy with their eyes glued to their phone to notice the edge of the cliff behind them when they are taking selfies (true story, that actually happened). But if you warn people to be careful, your arse is covered if they try to sue.

Same as "objects in the mirror are closer than they look" or "don't microwave your cat". Of course there have to be regulations and laws enforcing them, but some things are just beyond control.

Oh boy.

Quote: The Kansas water slide where a 10-year-old boy died from a fatal neck injury Sunday once carried an age requirement that would have forbidden him from riding — and the attraction faced multiple delays for safety concerns before debuting in 2014.

Kansas City, Kan. police said Caleb Thomas Schwab, died from a fatal neck injury while visiting the park with his father, state Rep. Scott Schwab.
One witness said the young child was decapitated from the accident.

Wow. Killing a state congressman's kid. That's actually something I don't think I heard of at Action Park. At least those attractions only decapitated crash test dummies.

Sure yea I get it. I just get tired of being looked down on and condescended to by people who survived even though their parents let them drink directly from the water spicket. That's great but it's still disgusting, unhealthy, and potentially dangerous. My kids and my dogs are my only priorities in this world. I work so hard to give them a safe, happy, balanced environment to grow up in. So it gets tiresome to have that constantly devalued by people who won't take me seriously because I care too much.

I'm a proud hose drinker and lived to tell about it.

(I also ran with scissors and had a BB gun without shooting my eye out.)

Congratulations. When my poor overly loved children grow up they'll have no reason to brag about surviving childhood. You should pity them really.
