Asexuality is where your bottle is empty and there is no need to hold the cork on in the first place I have a very healthy sexual drive. I just don't like to flaunt it online, unlike some people. I find that tasteless and unattractive.
I am also perfectly able to ignore my sexual drives, as well as a certain range of my feelings. This is not something I do on a regular basis, nor something that affects my behaviour in any significant way(unless I let it). It's just a mental skill that is very useful. People who don't have it will never understand it.
Uh...I can do that as well, actually. So can most people. Shit, I had a two-year dry spell, and my libido did take a back seat in that period. Came back when it needed to.
That's not being asexual, that's just being able to compartmentalise and carry on with your day.

Yes, actually, that's precisely what being asexual implies.
Asexuality can be arrived at in different ways. If we're to be precise in our use of language, however, this is the best way to describe this "skill".
Okay, if that's how you want to use that term. Just..nobody else here is using it that way.

I don't disagree, except for some people and even for me sometimes it can be more of an impediment than a source of harmless fun. I'm not going to lie, I'm glad I have a certain leeway in the matter.
That may be the case but if you have a sex drive but abstain from sexual activity that's sexual abstinence but it isn't asexuality.

You know, that's what I thought when I was 16. Kill myself when turning 30 and my life hadn't turned out to be as expected. Now I'm 53 and I'm still around, though my life hasn't turned out as expected. But then again, I was 16 when thinking bullshit like that.

Even if there is some weird definition of "asexual" that is in fact a fully sexual person repressing their sex drive... that's just a sexually repressed sexual person labelling themselves as "asexual".

I only respond nastily to comments I perceive as nasty to begin with. I thank FAF for his good intention in offering me some implicit advice, though I disagree with his thoughts on the matter of certain of my interactions here.
Anyway, I'm simply going to have to ignore those comments that alarm my bullshit sensor instead of trying to fight against what I perceive to be confirmation biases, stupidity and a mob mentality, all at once.
So, sorry for the off-topic, and in conclusion, I think I'll find it easier to simply ignore Alasdair, for now, and quit this conversation(thread) altogether.
You guys have fun.

Besides EP, why would I want to suppress my sex drive when the bolded letters in your signature encourage me to go fuck myself whenever I read it?
