Well, Bill Clinton is a serial adulterer and was nicknamed "Slick Willie" and he and Mrs. Clinton have both been accused by the right wing crazies of murder. Let's not forget that Bill Clinton was impeached. I don't know what else the right wing crazies could dream up that hasn't been lobbed already.

But I agree on not being complacent. Even though I believe Mrs. Clinton will win in a landslide, you bet your bippy I will cast my vote on election day.

I don't think Trump is trying to torpedo his own campaign. He fills arenas with followers who scream his name and hang on his every word. The campaign coffers hold millions of dollars. Even a basically normal person would find such adulation hard to handle; an egomaniac doesn't stand a chance of clinging to reality. I suspect Trump, just like his worshipers, honestly thinks this one is done and dusted. A few minor glitches, count up the votes, and rename the White House the "House of Trump." There is nothing that will convince him, or those same followers, that history will unfold any other way.

They're just upset that it'll overshadow the fact that Omar Mateen's dad supports Hillary. Which shouldn't matter at all, since at least in the United States, parents aren't held responsible for the actions of their adult children. Sometimes they aren't even held responsible for the actions they do to their minor children.

I don't think it has any bearing on Hillary's integrity or candidacy.

It was a gaffe, however. I mean it's an open event, if he was in the crowd, no problem. But the advance staffer that allowed him to be placed on stage should not be an advance staffer any more. That was just a tragically stupid oversight. As bad as the dumpster fire candidate in front of a literal pile of garbage.

Wait, why would he purposefully tank his campaign? Just decided he didn't actually want to be president...or?

They're saying that he never really thought he would get this far, and now that he's received the nomination, it seems to be that he decided that didn't really want to be president.  Now, this all speculation over some rumors and the fact that he seems to be doing exactly the opposite of what a presidential candidate should be doing.  Maybe this is just Trump being Trump, but Hillary's numbers are climbing rapidly after the last few weeks.  Makes you wonder.

Mark Cuban put forward a theory that this is just a way for Trump to grow his brand.  He estimated that Trump would increase hit net worth tenfold by running for president and losing.  All the profit, none of the work.
