Well, seeing as the rest of my family is still Christian, I do. However, when I start my own family, I plan to continue celebrating without the religion stuff because I love the holiday and traditions around it.

Am I a hypocrite for celebrating this holiday as an atheist? I don't think that your a hypocrite. To be a hypocrite you'd have to go to church on christmas eve or add in religious elements to the holiday.
Ayyyyyyy!
Why not?
Christmas has a huge cultural component to it. Giving gifts, vising family, going on a short holiday, drinking etc... It is really something to look forward to. You dont have to go to Church. You can simply be a part of all the celebration... "secular Christmas" if you will
No one in my family is religious (apart from the cats) but christmas is a good time to get together and have some fun. We do nothing at all for all the other "religious" holidays like easter or halloween
The meek shall inherit the Earth, the rest of us will fly to the stars.
Never underestimate the power of very stupid people in large groups Arguing with an engineer is like wrestling with a pig in mud ..... after a while you realise that the pig likes it!
The only "celebration" of christmas I do is to sit on the table and eat like a pig. But I don't pray or sing songs and I certainly don't celebrate the birth of the retarded child.

My stupid phone lost my comment I apologize if yall can see it and this is a duplicate.
Christmas and Easter have been Hallmarked. They no longer require religion to celebrate. My non religious family celebrates both. We decorate but it is with Santa and the Easter bunny instead of Jesus. Christmas is like Thanksgiving but with red and green instead of orange, brown, and other fall colors oh and with presents. But it's the same atmosphere of celebration, family, and lots of food. Easter is just fun with coloring eggs and lots of chocolate close to Halloween celebrations.

Also if your signature makes my scrolling mess up "you're tacky and I hate you."
Christmas is great. I like singing, sugar cookies, presents, and getting drunk on eggnog.
Why would any atheist not want to celebrate a holiday about a flying fat man who breaks into your house to leave presents and eat cookies?
I celebrate Xmas by buying presents, so yes I guess sorta.

Welcome! Not sure I've seen an intro from you.
I celebrate only because my parents do, and they are 20 mins away. Frankly, I like my life simple and boring, and figure when they die, I can stop it with the Xmas and the TG. Not for religious reasons, but because they are a nuisance. We have way too many holidays here in 'murrica. Hell, I have to hitchhike two hours just to see snow.
