"In short, Meyer has shown that his first disastrous book was not a fluke: he is capable of going into any field in which he has no training or research experience and botching it just as badly as he did molecular biology. Peace....

Quote:You worship one more god than I do. You are atheistic about one less god than I am. Either way, you still don't have a grasp on reality. Asgard is as real as your Heaven, i.e., not at all.

You can't just dust off old arguments and post them like they will apply to everyone. I believe in the God of the Torah, The Gospel, The Qur'an, The Sabians, The Magians, The people of Ancient Egypt, The One God of the Rapa Nui, et al.....All of these traditions originate upon the same point. I believe in One God, you believe in nothing...We are not close in position...

In order to make sense to you perhaps.

Is that not supremely arrogant to assume that if you personally cannot imagine or understand a premise then nature/reality itself cannot have realised it?

As Carl Sagan said, "The Universe does not have to conform to your expectations of it!"

I can't process this sentence. What is an atheistic question? "Hey did you remember to buy the milk?" he said to his wife. Yep, that was a seculual question.

Hard, critical (usually uncomfortable to a believer questions) normally asked by nonbelievers.. Such as - By what evidence or reason should I accept the claims of ancient tribal desert dwellers to govern my moral sensibilities? These are not the sort of questions that most people who have faith ask.. My experience is that usually their "critical" questions are tempered by the longing for an answer that allows them to retain their belief... They are usually seeking a way to rectify the disparity.. rather than critically analyze sans bias or need coloring the query...

Ahh, that makes sense when you use the word critical. Atheistic just means not pertaining to God. You don't need to be critical at all to be atheist, so it is best not to conflate the two. Guess what; theists think atheists just need to think critically so they can realize the truth of God. Wink

Point taken..

Well then perhaps critical is not the best word to describe what I meant.. Perhaps "skeptic"...? I think anyone who disbelieves would be skeptical of claims of faith and would query from that position.. It would be hard to query yourself with the mind of a skeptic in an objective manner if you believe or want to believe..

RE: Poor uneducated unintelligent aheists
The same goes for the word "skeptic" there is no word that atheists use that is exclusive to thier position. So any idea that can be crafted like this, "If only theists would just ask skeptic/intelligent/atheistic/green/deep/open-minded/well seasoned questions, they would see that God probably does not exist." Can be crafted by theists to impugn the idiocy of atheism. For me, I've realized that I am an atheist because my life experiences leave me with an inability to believe in God. I think it would be great to believe and I've spent most of my life earnestly seeking reasons to believe, and yet I don't.

On a different note, I wonder when Ashendent is going to post a link to the overwhelming evidence to support the idea that sexuality is so loose weave that people will pretty much just fuck whomever is nearest them... I doubt very much that it will be forthcoming and imagine that his "source" is http://www.imagination.com/intuition.his ass
