No, giving tips on how someone should behave while posting is giving communication instruction not moral. There are atheits who preach too, and if it gets out of hand they are (and have been) reprimanded as well. Bottom line, this is an athesit forum not a general religious forum. Harmony of the community of "like minded individuals" is the goal. These guidlines are examples (from experience) of the type of individuals that come here, not to discuss and share, but to preach and condemn.

A moral statement is any statement instructing people on what they "should" or "should not" do, so I think these tips are also moral instructions. I mean wouldn't you agree that if they were just communication tips they'd be things like "be specific in your questions and comments", "use proper punctuation", or "write in complete sentences"? I think it's a bit more than that. I have lots of tips for atheists on how they should and should not communicate with theists, but I refrain from tossing them out there because I know I will be accused of "preaching", and rightly so.

Ok, moral instructions as in code of conduct, yes. There are some things on there like you mentioned. However, from experience some theists fall into the stereotypes listed above. There is a code of conduct that applies specifically to theists here. It should be as this is an atheist forum. For an atheist to do said things would lessen the effectiveness of the code as it would imply hyprocrisy. Therefore both theist and atheist are punished for them, but as it is an atheist forum and experience dictates the theist is held stronger to the "moral" standard.

I would like if it would be added something (unless it already is): the case when a person (theist or atheist) starts a thread/post with the purpose of mocking or assaulting the other party, which has the effect of insulting all the members of that party - for instance, if you remember, there was once a thread with one that said what he would once ask a priest, something about cleaning/wiping the shit with devil wings in heaven - I don't know if he was kicked out, this case is rare but... it has an inverse effect to being a fruitful communication, to toleration, etc.

Reading the thread, it all just seems more sophomoric than offensive. That said, there was another forumer whose story is much more in line with what you warned against. She actually decided to go from rambling screeds to issuing blanket insults on every forum member before going to the Gauntlet and getting banned. There was an apparently atheistic counterpart to her.

well, it appeared to me as if one posted an image with one shitting on the qur'an (which should be quite insulting for all muslims here), especially if it is posted in a new thread, with the objective of laughing (because, if the muslims was very arrogant and disrespectful, then replying him with such an image would not look so bad). Anyway, if posting a thread with one shitting on the qur'an is ok, then why shouldn't this forum be simply kept with total freedom of speech? (to allow people to insult each other in any way they want, etc.) Is there really a big difference?
