Some Tips for Theists on an Atheist Forum

RE: Some Tips for Theists on an Atheist Forum
The difference would be the difference between free speech and hate speech. This is a discussion forum, with your only rights afforded to you (myself included) by the owner of this website. I think we here do a good job of monitoring / censoring / allowing free speech while keeping the flaming down. That said I won't speak for Adrian on free speech as it applies here.
"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post

I rather think that a complimentary article, 'Some Tips for Atheists on an Atheist Forum' would be nice - as it is the article comes across rather patronizing, though I'm sure it is useful to someone out there.

Some might think that most theist's beliefs are patronising.

Well, I have to say that I have found that theists tend to be more likely to have the serious problems with debating and rhetoric that debate that make this thread necessary.

Looking through more threads on this site, I can see what you mean - however, perhaps we could have some kind of more general version of the advice page, that could apply to both groups?

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

We have that. They're called "rules". Quite a few theists have been unable or unwilling to abide by them.

As it doesn't happen all that often, you may not be aware that atheists who can't be bothered to follow the rules get banned as well.
