He's not going to reduce the corporate tax rate either. Well how can he, when the US rate is an effective 0% for bigger companies?

No, it wouldn't. But it wouldn't stop populous politicians demanding it if their electorate bawls loudly enough. We just had that last year. 10 millions wasted on a totally useless fence to fend off refugees. So, an obvious idiocy doesn't say that there aren't idiots in power actually turning it into reality.

Maybe he plans on giving them bonuses based on earnings...out of the taxpayer coffers...like the brilliant businessman he is...and the welfare queens they are? I mean, I leave it up to him. He's the idea man, he has great ideas...the best ideas.

LESS GOVERNMENT, LESS FOREIGNERS, MORE FENCE!
“Love is the only bow on Life’s dark cloud. It is the morning and the evening star. It shines upon the babe, and sheds its radiance on the quiet tomb. It is the mother of art, inspirer of poet, patriot and philosopher.
It is the air and light of every heart – builder of every home, kindler of every fire on every hearth. It was the first to dream of immortality. It fills the world with melody – for music is the voice of love.
Love is the magician, the enchanter, that changes worthless things to Joy, and makes royal kings and queens of common clay. It is the perfume of that wondrous flower, the heart, and without that sacred passion, that divine swoon, we are less than beasts; but with it, earth is heaven, and we are gods.” - Robert. G. Ingersoll

You know, that's the thing about walls, even as concepts. People iomagine that dedicated people..say, smugglers or insurgents/invaders/what have you, who want to get something over them see them as an obstacle...they don;t. The simple presence of a wall indicates to any interested party that this would be a -wonderful- place to breach. We don't build walls where our presence is the strongest, where our control is the greatest. The whole point of a wall, if it can be said to have a point, is to cover places where precisely the opposite is true - where other resources are ineffectual, or slim to nonexistent. Where there is likely to be little, if any, resistance to a breach on the other side.
Sorry if I wasn't clear. I wasn't questioning whether Trump Wall would work (and I quite agree that it wouldn't), but whether it would be built at all.

If you believe a literal wall could stop illegal immigration, then I have a bridge to sell you. It was interesting to see people stick up for him and his wall idea even as the cost went from, "Very cheap, believe me" to 5 billion, to 10 billion, to 15 to 25...
And this sort of gets at what it is that really bothers me about the Trump supporters... This man actually has all of you fooled into thinking he's different from the other politicians. Hey. I'm not like these other guys. I know you. I know your struggle. I am your voice. Vote for me. Sound familiar? Every. Politician. Ever.
Pretty soon here we'll find out about all the promises he's going to break and keep. I guess time will tell.
We're talking about people that think that a guy that's sits on a golden toilet is a man of the people. They're not exactly the best and the brightest.
And let's not forget that ~45% of the country believes that the earth is <10,000 years old. That's fertile ground for a guy like Trump.

Agreed, and certainly not when there's there pork at play. There;s more money in -not- building the wall we're not building than there would be in actually building it. Had they finished it the last time, how would we justify the checks we'll be writing this time...for the wall that will have materialized at no time? Whether or not it would work seems like a complete non-issue....but shhh, don't tell that to the trumpsters. Besids, if it we -did- build it and it -did- work...that would be a disaster!!!.....
Who would we blame for our misfortunes if not the mexicans?

In my opinion there's something wrong with the perception of wealth in the States. It doesn't make you a better or worse person. But the American perception seems to be, dosh equals success, makes you superior. Nothing could be further from the truth. But it's one of the many narratives we Europeans will never understand about America.

I wouldn't. Any massive construction project has inherent value, even if it doesn't work as intended. You could keep workers employed for years, subsidiary jobs would be created (entertainment venues, restaurants, brothels, etc) near the work sites, tax revenues would increase - all of these things have value.
But I take your point: I'd sooner see the labour and capital invested in things like hospitals, homeless shelters, schools and the like - all of which would have more value and workability, any way you figure it.
