A 37-year-old Michigan woman sentenced to 30 days in Macomb County, Michigan jail for falling behind on child support payments died 12 days into her sentence, reports Detroit 4.
A federal lawsuit claims that jail staff ignored Jennifer Meyers’ pleas for help as a virus that eventually caused sepsis flared in her body.
According to witness testimony in video footage obtained by Detroit 4, Jennifer Meyers was visibly ill, unable to get out of bed and sweating profusely. “It looked like she had just gotten out of the shower and she was sweating so bad,” one of the witnesses said. Other inmates tried to cool her with wet towels.
“Nobody ever came in to check on her and see if she was OK. She wasn’t eating.

Cop who killed Philando Castile charged with second-degree manslaughter

The 32-year-old Castile’s death garnered national headlines earlier this past July when his girlfriend filmed his fatal encounter with police and posted it online. The video showed that Castile was complying with the officer’s commands, and that he had informed Officer Yanez that he was carrying a gun on him so the officer wouldn’t be alarmed if he spotted it.

When Castile then reached for his wallet to present his identification, the officer opened fire on him.

LOL, I wanted to be a sheriff's deputy when I first got out of the service.  Actually went through the motions and because of my service the job was simply mine.  My grandfather talked me out of it with the brilliant and cunning use of;

"Is that who you are, is that what I raised you to be?"

‘KKK’ deputies who killed NC man in warrantless search had record of harassing the public

A group of sheriff’s deputies who killed a man during a warrantless search last year privately called themselves “the KKK” and had a long record of harassing and abusing the public.
The reported Thursday that the family of John Livingston, 33, of Lillington, North Carolina is suing six members of the Harnett County Sheriff’s Department over Livingston’s shooting death at the hands of Deputy Nicholas Kehagias in November of 2015.
According to the lawsuit — which has now been joined by five other parties — Kehagias, Deputy Brandon Klingman and Deputy John Knight called themselves “The KKK” and formed a kind of “fight club” gang that terrorized citizens and frequently broke the law.
