There is, but there is not much use in me quoting verses from the Quran if you believe that all of it was written by men (in the first place).

Jihad literally means a "struggle" or a "striving" in the way of Allah.
However, there are also non-violent forms of Jihad which can be done with pen, tongue, hands, the media, internet, and in many other ways. Jihad is not always a violent Jihad. It can be a peaceful one as well. The only time when a physical Jihad is allowed in Islam is for defensive reasons, when Muslims are being attacked because of their religion, and when they have to protect their homes and families from an attack. There is no permissibility for an "offensive" Jihad, because there are several verses in the Quran which state that we are not allowed to harm any non-combatants if they are not harming us (whether they are infidels or not). See this article for a better explanation.

Different perspective: Crime to be pagan? Everyone believes in something different. (Pagan, Jewish, Christian Majus)
Everybody worships something he believes. In the past it was Arabia. Muslims say insult to our faith today. Muhammad and his friends, broke the idols of the pagans all.
Where is the freedom of beliefs?

Quote:if you believe that all of it was written by men (in the first place).
I'm positive it was written by men, even muslims admit that. Do you dispute the bolded part?
Quote:Muslims believe that the Quran was verbally revealed through the angel Jibrīl (Gabriel) from God to Muhammad gradually over a period of approximately twenty-three years beginning in 610 CE, when Muhammad was forty, and concluding in 632 CE, the year of his death.[1][12][13] Furthermore, Muslims believe that the Qur'an was precisely memorized, recited and exactly written down by Muhammad's companions, called Sahabas, after each revelation was dictated by Muhammad.
The issue is was it written by any 'god?' Or is it just made up like every other reliigion?
I'm guessing you know where my vote goes on that.

Rayaan, there's no reason to assume that the Qu'ran only holds value if one believes it was dictated by god through an angel. Either the text stands on it's own merits or falls on the lack of same said. Whether or not one wishes to believe in Allah has absolutely nothing to do with the value of the text.

I'm reminded of a number of weeks ago when my wife dragged me to church, part of the priest's homily was about a fellow priest in another town being relocated because the people there didn't like him. He added as an example how when he was growing up that he heard an adult say to another adult how the priest at his church didn't like kids, so as he was growing up he didn't like that priest because he thought that he didn't like children, and it was unfair to that priest to have that reputation. The gist of the homily was that we shouldn't criticize priests, being that there's a shortage and all, because Satan uses that criticism to turn people against the priests. So it's best to never say anything bad about any priests at all.
The rebuttal in my mind was "Bullshit! Nobody is above criticism or reproach if there's a valid reason for it. Nobody, not even myself, gets a free pass. And in light of church sex scandals, especially priests."

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down happy. They told me I didn't understand the assignment. I told them they didn't understand life.
