You could have made the same reply to Cecelia in this thread, but you didn't. Ad hoc much?

Cecilia exists. Your god? Not so much.

And all I can think is, well if he is supposed to be big bad and brawny and can kick our asses, why do they feel the need to defend him? Seems to me a bit hypocritical to feel the need to defend someone who should not need your help. RE: Paul's 500 witnesses.

No doubt about that. That made no sense. If you are born healthy your brain is constantly building new neurological pathways as you grow to an adult. A newborn cannot suddenly be as smart as an adult. If your brain didn't grow as you did you would not be able to learn things. Intelligence is an evolutionary attribute, it is our species ability to be curious, but that does not make a newborn as in individual having the ability to adapt to all information and understand it at birth. Learning takes time, you don't have adult knowledge as an infant. (May 10, 2017 at 6:06 pm)Brian37 Wrote: That made no sense. I define intelligence to be an individual's maximum capacity for understanding and comprehension. So when you're born... your intelligence is the potential of your brain... not your brain's current state. Dumb people are never capable of understanding certain things. Intelligent children are just as intelligent as they will be when they're adults... their brain just hasn't developed yet. To say they're less intelligent just because their brain hasn't developed yet makes no sense to me. Their intelligence is relative to their age anyhow. |
