ATHEIST, not athiest, spellcheck is your friend, of course looking at the banner never hurt.

I need to ask you an honest question first, when you were 18 did you still believe in a god/creator while questioning your core beliefs?

I took a philosophy class, which really made me question my faith. I had believed that religion was something man made. At that time also, things weren't going good for me either, I was depressed at times, and I abandoned my religion. At the time I was still curious about other religions, but I had made up my mind I wasn't Muslim. It was also because my parents were religious, but they had a lot of hardships. So i thought why do my parents pray to God, and get nothing in return. Weather the thought of God existing at that time, I would say no, but it only lasted like 9 months, close to a year. Within this time, i started doing things, I normally wouldnt do as a Muslim. I started going to parties, drinking, smoking...... I was basically living life the way I wanted to. However something inside me didn't feel right after a while of living like that. So I started researching more, watched alot of youtube videos actually. The ones that caught my attenion were the Zakir Naik videos, and from there the idea of God arose again.

I am going to have to give u a link, because if I retype it, i would be here forever.

Here is a link. http://www.islamanswers.net/Quran/references.htm

I just couldn't ignore these references, just wanna get the viewpoint of Atheists of this.

If you're going to be so lazy that you'll only post a link then I'm going to do exactly the same.

So go do some reading;

Thanks for the link, I didnt know people tried debunking the scientific references. I will analyze this and get back. And i wasn't being lazy... It wouldn't make sense for me to retype pages and pages...

Damn, it must be true if someone on fucking YOUTUBE was saying it.

And we're talking about the same quran that states that salt and fresh water don't mix? Very scientific writing indeed.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

I love this hadith;

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “If a fly falls into the drink of any one of you, he should dunk it all the way in and then remove it, because on one if its wings is disease and on the other is its cure.” [Sahîh al-Bukhârî (3320, 5782)]

SCIENCE!

haha, its not like a I just watched youtube videos that made me revert. It caught my attention, I watched them, I did more research, found Islam convincing enough to convert. I wasn't expecting childish remarks on this forum, but I guess there are always a few like you among good people.

Yea, that puzzled me at first also, but if you do your own research on the matter, you will get your answer.

We only resort to childish behavior when presented with evidence for childish beliefs.

Right. So I take a beaker of sterile water (let's say 1dl) and another with the same amount of water and pour a teaspoon of salt into it. The one without salt doesn't conduct electricity, the other one does. When I mix the liquids togheter and I check for conductivity, guess what I'm going to find? And if I drink the whole beaker, guess what I'm gonna notice? Well, it tastes salty, all the way through.
