Do you see those big, big eyes? They can generate equally big tears on demand. I already told my wife to make room for a pony.

My older daughter wanted to put her sister back.
So did mine! After about a month, J came to me and said "put her back".
Yeah... kinda can't do that once they're out.

I thing our older one only turning 2 in a few weeks was kind of a sweet spot where she doesn't show much envy and is very eager to help. I think if you have a 4yo for example, that becomes automatically more difficult.

Agreed. But you know, my situation was totally different. J was 7 years old when S came along, but because J has Down syndrome, it was more like she was 3 or 4. I had literally - finally gotten her fully potty trained one month before S came along. And she was small to boot. Being 7 made no difference. She was still in toddler-sized clothing for the most part.

I don't have multiple children to trade stories about but I remember when my sisters were born. I was barely 5 when the first was born and almost 7 when the second was. The first was interesting. I wanted to see her and hold her and for some reason didn't call her by her name I just called her 'the baby'. By the second sister I was like 'seriously not this again, those things are loud and now I have to share a room with the first one so this stupid new one gets her own room'

Like so many places we've been having ourselves a heat wave here in California. S'posed to get on up to 80 today in Berkeley and SF. So to get some exercise I left the house at 5 to get over to Fort Funston to walk the dogs. Twenty minutes and I was at a Starbucks south of SF. Drank that coffee and read the paper waiting for the gate to open. Sun coming up over the city and Lake Merced was nice. The beach is always nice. Discovered a new bit of WWII ruins because the tide was so low.

Maybe start with a puppy.

Nice pics! You want heat? We had 102º F here this week. At least it's a dry heat.
