Uh, so can just about anything else. That's like taking a medication with the harshest possible side effects and a lesser success rate rather than a safer, more natural and far more successful medication to treat the same problem. I mean, say something nice about them but don't give them cookie just because they haven't forgotten to keepp breathing even though they're doing it all wrong.
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?

Whatever, think what you want. I know he is a better person now and however he got there I don't care. I said my good thing and you come in here and wanna act like an asshole. Some people have different reasons to better themselves, who are you to judge how they get there? Not to mention bettering yourself is not the same as remembering to breath and giving him kudos for his change is not giving religion a cookie.

Think what you want, it's not like someone who has something wrong with them actually needs help or anything.

I genuinely read that as "they have boobs".
Yeah, I have issues.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Religious communities will often band together to do things collectively that is often more difficult to see in religiously apathetic communities. My own time as a PHD researcher what seems like years ago studying a community from the Sikh diaspora in my city. Came with little in the 50s to the UK, ended up owning half a constituency ward and getting EU funding for community projects and the such. The beliefs are/were wacky but the sense of community and collective was impossible not to be inspired by. Terrible when used for nefarious means, but when it came to organising to home a family who lost their house in an arson attack, or even just to feed hungry visitors in the Gurdwara, the community always came together. And it was their religious faith that underpinned it.

Religiously-minded folk are refreshingly unburdened by complicated concepts such as empathy, human decency, politeness, charity and the social contract.
That's every religious person other than you, random offended theist chancing upon this post.
