I lost my Soul

RE: I lost my Soul
I have to give Drich kudos for that. Gods existing or not, depression is a serious problem people deal with.

My advice is to seek a professional therapist and honestly discuss what's going on thats making you feel that way.

A bunch of people on the internets can never help you that much.

Atlas, slowing down the course of a disease is treating it.  Using disease-modifying therapy one can prevent new lesions from developing in the brain and spinal cord, preventing disease relapses and improving quality of life.

There is also siponimod, a promising new drug for secondary progressive MS, which was previously untreatable.

Quote:So believe me morality and God do force themselves when we look at civilizations that had it all, and could've invest in easing the pain of others, but instead started a war here or a conflict there, with cash flowing in the pockets of corrupted men, instead of investing it in stuff like inventing new drugs and look into the misery of others.

You seem to have a nasty case of "scarcity mentality" -- Your post implies that everyone should drop everything and work only on one particular set of socioeconomic problems, doing nothing at all about other problems even though it's comparatively easier to deal effectively with those other problems and improve people's quality of life by doing so.

No, no, a hundred thousand times hell, no!  Of the over seven billion people on this planet, we have more than enough individuals with the knowledge, skills, background and passion to work on literally thousands of problems simultaneously.

I know my own strengths and weaknesses and interests.  I am not a politician or a lawyer or a media personality or a billionaire.  I am not going to toss my hard-earned money into some black hole of lobbying and focus groups and "feed the starving children" hype that might provide some small amount of help to some far-flung corner of the globe -- if local warlords don't hijack the supply trucks, that is.  I would much rather invest that money in medical research (including the Multiple Sclerosis Society, which gets a donation from me every year).

While donating to research projects, I can also go to the store and purchase nice new clothing and undergarments to donate to local homeless people.  At the same time I can give food to a food bank, pet food and cat litter to an animal shelter, and money to a clinic to supply birth control for women who want it but can't afford it.  I don't have to choose just one.

Interested in making the world a better place, Atlas?  Don't treat it as an all-or-nothing deal; just do something.  Anything.  It's better and easier to relieve suffering when and how you can, rather than waiting for utopia to just pop out of nowhere or waiting for a god to exact justice after we're dead.

Nobody deserves hell.  No exceptions.  Not even the worst of the worst in the history of humanity.  Eternal punishment for finite crimes is infinitely unjust, because the punishment is infinitely more than the crime.

The sin is against an infinite being (God) and a sin unforgiven is infinite, so therefore the punishment is infinite.

It's interesting because the same imaginary  being is also supposed to be infinitely good and infinitely forgiving.

Yet more contradiction.

How exactly did you lose your soul? Did it involve a musical instrument? Down in the fine state of Georgia, perhaps? If you're looking for someone to go in double or nothing so you can win your soul back, just say so. There are PLENTY o' talented musicians round these parts. I'm positive that I can find someone who'd be willing to put their soul on the table.

It'll cost you, though.
How much cash are you willing to pony up?

Before you start wheeling and dealing, keep in mind....this is your f*cking SOUL we're talking about here.

Are you retarded or something Angry ... Withdrawn Blush

Anyway I never said anything about God. I simply pointed out the fact that 'feelings' had nothing to do with the soul, and then diagnosised the signs of depression.

My advise as bad as it was was to suppress their feelings and eat till the felt better or go seek help

So that means I did not reference God in any way shape or form as this is not a God problem/issue.

"Soul" is a superstitious word and is the same ilk as "spirit" and even the new age watered down version "aura".

You don't have to say shit about your pet deity. You still however think yours is the only real one, and also fall to see that superstition leads humans to falsely believe in an "other power".

Of course feelings have nothing to do with the soul because there is no such thing. Just like talking to Santa won't put presents under the tree even if the thought of such triggers endorphins.

"feelings" and I hate to burst your bubble, are not a result of a cosmic sky wizard vs a ground troll or a "soul" or a "spirit". "Feelings" are quite natural and have never been caused by the super natural.

Don't hand me any bullshit that you think God has nothing to do with the outcome of humans if you believe in him. You do or you don't. If you do believe God is good and can help me, then stand by your argument and defend it. I don't think however this has to do with evidence on your part, but merely another dodge to avoid accepting you have no evidence.

If my depression has nothing to do with selling your God , GREAT. It would be nice to think, but I don't believe you. I do however believe that if I were not as educated as I am now, and a newbie you'd try to pick me off and sell me a utopia to cure me.

Does God intervene or not? If he does according to you, why would he need a mere fallible mortal to act as his PR department?
No don't and me crap, you DO believe your God is a cure for humanity's ills otherwise why believe it?
