T, just be yourself. Relax. Assume it's not going to work out. Just enjoy the evening. You've got absolutely nothing to lose by being yourself.
If the magic happens, it will happen. If it doesn't, don't try to force it ...
Best case scenario, you both want to catch up again. Worst case, you both laugh it off, and try to enjoy the night as much as possible.
It's just a confidence thing. But statistically, you also need to be confident that if nothing clicks, it's no-one's fault.

So I'm giving Tinder a whirl and I'm meeting someone on Sunday. I have no idea if we'll hit it off. Looking at his photos, I believe he's quite a bit shorter than me, which some men aren't keen on.
But anyway, the typical first date questions I've encountered are cringe-y - "How many siblings do you have?" "What do you do in your free time?" "How long have you lived in this area?" "Where do you work?"  or maybe even "Wanna fuck?"

Boring and predictable!

I'm thinking of throwing out a few more interesting questions. Like "Would you rather get a paper cut between your fingers every time you touch paper or bite your tongue every time you eat something?" 

Any suggestions? 

If I get any good ones, I will ask them on Sunday.

Even outside dating, my friend from Oklahoma, it took him 3 years before he gave me his personal phone number. I've known John for 16 years on line, but even after all that, when I paid to have him visit me this past June, his dad was worried about him visiting someone he had never met in person. 

If this guy is lagit, they won't mind a public meeting with you showing up with family or friends. I don't know how long you have been conversing with this person. 

I would not do anything alone with someone, at least not for a couple of months. Lagit people wont begrudge you for insisting on safety.

If you show up with family on a first date I think that makes you the crazy one.

Meeting up in public is sensible.  Taking down details about their car, appearence, address, phone number, social networking links and passing that onto a reliable friend/family member is also sensible.

No, it should not matter whom your adult buddy is. Any lagit person will understand. 

Problem with your suggestion, is that a nut can steel a car, borrow a car and lie to you about all their private info and use a burner cell phone. If you meet someone online, I do agree to meet in public, but also take someone with you. The only way to prevent a con or sicko from hurting you is to have other face to face witnesses. 

Your stuck on the privacy and the potential romance that might be muted. You need to get over that attitude. The internet is full of nuts, period. Again, a lagit person will understand your taking those safety measures.

I'd say if they question that, then it is a huge red flag.
