No sorry, From the clock tower shooter in Texas in the 1970s McDonalds in San Ysidro CA in 1984 Lubies cafeteria in Texas in the 90s Colombine in the late 90s. Charleston last year Colorado movie theater Oregon Collage Virginia Tech Navy Yard in Washington DC Pulse Nightclub Daytrader massacre in Atlanta Ga, sicko murdered his kids and wife before he did that. Dallas last year NEWTOWN, 20 kids and 6 teachers. Those are a fraction of mass shootings I can think of. That is not including the suicide, family violence and accidental. 93 people on average, even outside mass shootings, 93 people on average die per day from use of firearm. Nope sorry, the talk from the right and the NRA is cheap, bullshit and selfish narcissism. If the right were doing something, we would not see those numbers. The fact is the right simply does not give a shit. (October 3, 2017 at 4:04 pm)Thumpalumpacus Wrote: I like to see fewer "moments of silence" and more "get off your ass and do something" moments. Keep it for the 11th of the 11th and bundle them all together. You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid. Tinkety Tonk and down with the Nazis. If you added up all the "moment's of silence" since Reagan and Brady got shot, I am sure those seconds would add up to a good chunk of a year. No more thoughts and prayers. No more "moment's of silence" If they want to honor the dead and make their lives meaningful then they should fuck off with the lip service and do something. Quote:No more thoughts and prayers. And flags at half staff. (Should NFL players only partly kneel or should they kneel on two knees to make up for the difference?) Can a colored ribbon be far behind? 'Murrica. We don't give a fuck even if one of our own shoots someone, we still want it to STOP. The only thing the right musters are empty gestures and "sell more and do nothing." They simply wont admit they don't give one flying fuck.
Hmm. So apparently gun sales go up when mass shootings take place.
Long after all the dead are buried and the wounds are healed and those who can respond to PT do, there's going to be a tremendous number of people with PTSD and survivors guilt and anxiety and sleeplessness and depression and suicidal ideation (if not worse).
I can already feel some hackles being raised at 12 Steppers if/when I start moving discussions in that direction . . . . I've certainly heard enough of "but you're one of the lucky ones, what are you bitching about" for 30 years now. The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
If it weren't for people sending out their thoughts and prayers, we wouldn't have the real heros, who are the people who complain about thoughts and prayers.

Horrible for those murdered, but great for the bottom line of the factories. Oil companies uses the same "commie" slur to keep led in gas. Same bullshit fear was aimed at Nadar when he told car companies their products sucked. Same bullshit fear big Tobacco used to keep their horrible marketing. Yep, it is easy to scare the shit out of gullible people. |
