I think Pool is reffering to the fact that the bible isn't offerig natural science knowlodge just moral knowledge , he is stating that you can't disprove the bible because of physics scientific facts.

If you claim something occurred in history, or claim that a certain facet of reality exists, or claim that something is true and verifiable...then you need evidence.  

If all you're saying is 'the bible has some good stories and morals but none of the claims should be considered as true in reality' then...fine, I guess?

They're certainly SOMEWHAT different. Fiction writers create content without expectation of it being taken as literally true. Religious writers are more like propagandists, they're not trying to accurately portray events or reality in general, just promoting whatever seems to support

If evidence is scientific then it has met the gold standard of evidence.

The best evidence we have contradicts what the bible tells us about the world and its history.

So you actually have no idea what makes something a straw man fallacy? It's misrepresenting someone's position as something easier to refute.

The worldwide accepted position is that the Bible is a religious work. When scientific evidence is asked for God Bible is misrepresented as a scientific work so that it can be subject to scientific scrutiny to make it easier to refute it.

No, when I ask for evidence, I'm asking for what I need if you want me to believe you. If you don't have that, you're wasting your time as well as mine. If you don't have an argument or evidence, there's nothing to refute.
