Her mother is Gourav's mother or aunt... I don't know.... it's unclear.

Considering the way the thing is phrased.... I'd say someone is illegitimate...

Good try but there is a correct answer (it's not a trick question, you just have to think about it)

Hehe... think like Sherlock Holmes does?
Where... the sentence says "only son", but doesn't mention "only daughter" for that grandfather, so, given the roundabout way that the thing is phrased, that must be the aunt, one that's not much liked, because if that was his mother, then he'd just say that the girl is his sister. Also, in India, there always many sons and daughters, right? Sad family that only has one son and one daughter, huh?

Something like that?
Not really a logic problem, but more like a social wording one?

I also got Mother or Aunt. With the wording, Guarev and the Girl on Stage could both share the same mother, or their mothers could be sisters. .

I think there are unspecified assumptions going on here.  Have either Gourav's or the girl on stage's parents been married to and had kids with other people?  Then there is the possibility of adoption.

While the mother of the girl on stage had only one brother, did she have any sisters?  While Gourav's mother brother was his father's only son, the girl's mother need not be that father's only daughter.  If Gourav is the son of a sister, that makes Gourav and the girl on stage cousins.  If the girl's mother is the only daughter, they Gourav and the girl on stage are brother and sister .. assuming neither is adopted or a half-sibling.

Are there any assumptions you think we should make here, Pool?

Because Gauza is actually the girl on stage, and she talks about herself in the 3rd person like The Rock?

I think aunt will be a possibility if the question mentioned something about sisters 🤔 but since it didn't we can safely assume it's the mother 🤗

Trick is to only go with the question and not add anything extra

So no to adoption.
Quote:While the mother of the girl on stage had only one brother, did she have any sisters?
Question doesn't mention anything about sisters, if it did there will be a possibility of the answer to be aunt but since it didn't answer will be mother.
Quote:While Gourav's mother brother was his father's only son, the girl's mother need not be that father's only daughter.
Again, no mention of siblings in the question so if we make unnecessary assumptions we will get wrong answer.
Quote:If the girl's mother is the only daughter, they Gourav and the girl on stage are brother and sister .. assuming neither is adopted or a half-sibling.
Yep. This is correct if the girl on stage is the sister of gourav then the relation of him with the mother of the girl becomes so that the mother of the girl is the mother of gourav 🤗

Y'all are assuming that the (grand)father only inseminated one woman.
