RE: Is being a theist immoral in your opinion?

Like others have said, simply being a theist isn't immoral. Using that belief to:
Browbeat others into believing what you do (including pushing it in public schools)
Curb others' rights (racism, sexism, gender discrimination, etc.)
Use it as a shield to cover up abuse
Is highly immoral. And, unfortunately, far too many theists engage in one kind of that behavior or another.

I don't mind theists advertising their church, but what I do object to are flyers and posters which deliberately spread ignorance in order to promote theist belief. For example, I recently found an A4 poster stuck up on a noticeboard listing all the usual theist objections to Darwinian evolution, e.g. including the quote about evolution as being as likely as a tornado sweeping through a junkyard creating a jumbo jet . No mention of any church or even a particular religion, it was just out to mislead people. I tore it down and the leaflets that people could take away and then went on a hunt for more of them.

When I lived in the USA, at the time Behe was publishing his pseudo-science, I moved his screed from science to fiction in all good booksellers that I visited. Texas has enough problems with science education as it is. Same for Dumbski, Wells et al.
