RE: What are the rationalizations of flat earth believers?

The rational of flat earthers is based on "seeing is believing."
Where whatever is seen and interpreted by the viewer is of the highest order in "evidence."
Have you ever heard that before? It's very familiar on this forum isn't it?
To all appearances the earth is flat, as far as they choose to see.
You don't build your house on a rounded slab do you?
And of course some of the flat earthers have a whole system of reasons to believe what they want.
It sounds so familiar doesn't it?
For some, having such a system of thought is all the proof they need.
What is more, if a large sector of the population believe as they do, then it's definitely true - how could so many people be wrong?
That's a really good argument for some isn't it?

It comes from the same brain gland as anti-vaccine rhetoric.

We need to set up a trip to visit the edge of the flat earth and have a look at what's below it
The meek shall inherit the Earth, the rest of us will fly to the stars.
Never underestimate the power of very stupid people in large groups

Even good arguments have to yield to reality.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Regarding the OP I've got to go with "weak", final answer.
