Trinitarianism was so clearly "revealed" that it very nearly lost out to Arianism which diametrically opposed it. It spread among the Germanic barbarians who overran the Western Roman Empire. In 410 the Arian Goths sacked Rome and how much better the world would have been if they had wiped out the catholick assholes who were exerting their bullshit over Italy. Oh well....such are the failings of history.
Nonetheless, the trinity was not so much "revealed" as it was imposed by the Eastern half of the empire. War, not scripture, determined how your bullshit succeeded.
Ssssshh! Don't confuse him with facts. This isn't a factual conversation, Min. We're supposed to be talking about the Trinity.

They're like people who act superior to others for being blinded by fog, while they themselves stand in their own little clearing - whereas, in reality, they're as much in the fog as everyone else.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Biologically he was close enough to the human species to be able to sexually reproduce with Eve, you guys accuse me of making that up but that is according to Jewish tradition, furthermore there in no mention of Cain in the genealogy of Adam.

The same way he "appeared" the universe, by speaking.

Let's stop with the hypocrisy, YOU accept abiogenesis is true with out being able to explain how it happened... So just stop.

Actually I was arguing that a humanoid type creature was speaking, it was you athiest arguing that it was a talking snake... go figure

Well, it's the bible that describes the dragon, and tells us how he lost his limbs and was made on crawl on his belly. It's not the only dragon in magic book, either. There's the dragon that swallowed that poor schmuck as well.
It would seem that rev 20:2 makes one thing explicit....
Quote:He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.

This is kinda outta left field. I know, I know what's new? But...
Jesus said "Pick up your cross and follow Me".
stauros translated "cross" is a stick, especially one with a point at one end--stake. Jesus merely said that if you want to be my disciple(student) then you must 'pull up (tent)stakes' and follow Me or you will not have all the info because I got places to go and people to see and I ain't goin' to be here tomorrow.
Yet, you cannot believe how much Christianity has turned that simple pre-cross phrase into the rocket science of bearing crosses!
This is also how I view the doctrine of the "Trinity"--also completely stupid!
From the viewpoint of the God-Man's humanity, He prayed to His Father. From the viewpoint of His Deity, He is the Father. The Head of the house. The "I AM"! We are the house.
My girlfriend thinks I'm a stalker. Well...she's not my girlfriend "yet".
I discovered a new vitamin that fights cancer. I call it ...B9
I also invented a diet pill. It works great but had to quit taking it because of the side effects. Turns out my penis is larger and my hair grew back. And whoa! If you think my hair is nice!
When does size truly matter? When it's TOO big!
I'm currently working on a new pill I call "Destenze". However...now my shoes don't fit.

You were saying? Grasping at straws I see...
You're conflating two different translations there buddy.
In case you didn't know the Old Testament was originally in Hebrew while the New Testament was originally in Greek.
The Hebrew word for serpent has a completely different origin / meaning than the Greek word.
If I wasn't posting from my phone I'd include recipts.
Lesson over.

I will have to add Man-Snake to my list of ridiculous biblical characters. Revelations is rife with them.

Dragons in any language are still dragons. Magic book has dragons popping out of the demonhole, apparently..so take it up with magic book..not me, or words. You think dragon-men were coming here, stealing our women and our jobs, causing crime and raping and murdering people, etc. You'll have to take that one up with yourself.

Why do you guys always jump to the conclusion that it was a snake looking man and not just a normal looking man? If I had the power to turn you into a snake does that automatically mean that you must look like a snake before hand? It would seem the one thing you atheists have in common is the lack of imagination.

I'll say this for you, Huggy: 'imagination' is not something you lack. At all.
I'm curious about something. How does the Septuagint render the word for the snake/serpent/whatever in Genesis and how does that compare with the Greek in Rev. 20:2? Is it the same word or not?
